The City {Commission met in regular session, Mayor Buck and Commissioner Clark present
on roll call. Bishop absent.
The minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, August 22, 1949, were approved as read.
Moved by Clark, seconded by Buck that the City Engineer having filed the assessment roll
in L.I.D. No. 650, with the-City Treasurer, the City Clerk is hereby instructed to give
notice of hearing on said roll for Monday, September 19, 1949, -at 10 o'clock A.M:
carried Buck and Clark voting aye on roll call. Bishop absent'
Moved by !Clark, seconded by Buck that the petition presented by property owners asking
that parking of cars on 16th Avenue South between Lenox and Washington Streets be abol-
ished, be taken under a'dvisementi - carried Buck and Clark voting aye on roll call.
Bishop absent.
Moved by 'Clark, seconded by Buck that the City 'Clerk be instructed to advertise for bids
for the construction of grading, resurfacing and curbs and gutters, also a bridge across
the Naches and CowicheCanal; said bids to be received on Tuesday, September 6, 19490
at 10 o ►clock A.M: carried Buck-,and ,,Clark voting aye on roll call. Bishop absent.
Moved by Clark, seconded by Bishop that this being the time for the hearing on Resolutiol
No. C -852, providing for the construction of curbs and gutters on 29th Avenue from
Summitview to Lincoln, and there being no objections in writing or otherwise to said im-
provement, or any part thereof; It is ordered that Ordinance No.-B-1039 creating a
Local Improvement for said improvement, be passed as read: carried Buck and Clark votinj
aye on roll call. Bishop absent.
ORDINANCE NO. B -1039, providing for the improvement of -29th Avenue North from Summitviev
Avenue to Lincoln A venue`in the City-of Yakima by grading, ballasting, surfacing and con-
structing concrete curbs and gutters and by constructing a reinforced concrete bridge-.
across the Naches and Cowiche ;Canal; establishing a Local Improvement District, provid=
ing for the method of payment therefor, and creating a special fund.
Moved by ±Clark, seconded by Buck that this being the time for the hearing on the assess-
ment roll in L.I.D..•No. 656, and there being no objections in writing or otherwise to
said assessment roll or any part thereof; It is ordered that Ordinance No.-B -1040 con-
firming said assessment roll and every part thereof be passed as read: carried Buck
and Clark voting aye on roll call. -Bishop absent.
ORDINANCE NO. -B -1040, confirming the assessment roll covering Local Improvement Distric
No. 656 as created and established by Ordinance No. B -967 of'the Ordinances of the City
of Yakima.
RESOLUTION NO. C -855, BE IT RESOLVED -BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE -CITY OF YAKIMA, WASH.
That it is its intention to improve Sharon Way and a portion of
34th Avenue North by grading, ballasting, surfacing and constructing concrete curbs and
gutters, all-of said improvement to be constructed in full accordance with the plans and
specifications to be prepared by the City Engineer and.filed with the City 'Clerk.
The district to be served by and assessed for the above described -
improvement is situate in Yakima 'County, Washington and described as follows, to -wit:
Beginning at the intersection of the west line of
34th Avenue - -North and the north line of Taylor Way;
thence westerly along said north line of Taylor Way
a distance of 320 feet; thence northerly and parallel
with 34th Avenue North a distance of 144 feet; thence
easterly 340 feet to the center line of _34th Avenue
North; thence northerly along said center line extend-
ed a distance of 148.7 feet; thence easterly and para-
llel with the north line of Sharon Way a distance of
396 feet; thence southerly to the southeast corner of
Sharon Court; thence westerly along the south line of
.Sharon Court to 34th Avenue North; thence -north
20 feet; thence west 20 feet to point of beginning.
All persons who may desire to object to said proposed improvement
are hereby notified to appear and present such objections, if any, at a meeting of the
City -Commission to be held at its office in the City Hall in the City of Yakima, Yakima
County, Washington, at the hour of 10 o'clock a.m., on. Monday, the 12th day of Septem-
ber., 1949, which time and place are hereby fixed for the hearing of all matters relating
to.said proposed improvement or objections thereto., and for determining the method of
payment for said improvement; and the City Clerk is hereby directed to give due notice
of said hearing and of the intention to make the aforesaid improvement.
The cost and expense of said improvement, including the cost of
acquiring right of way easements, engineering, surveying, advertising, publication of
notices, and all other expenses incident thereto, shall be borne by and assessed against
all of the property legally and properly assessable therefor as provided by law and as
above described, and the City Engineer is hereby directed to submit to the City Commiss-
ion at or prior to the date fixed herein for said hearing, all of the data and other
information required by law to be by him submitted.
ADOPTED BY THE CITY COMMISSION this 22nd day of August, 1949.
