HomeMy WebLinkAbout08/15/1949 Business Meetingr August 15, 1949 The City Commission met in regular session, Mayor Buck and (Commissioners Bishop and Clark.present on roll call. The minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, August 8, 1949, were approved as read. Moved by Clark, seconded by Buck that the City Engineer having filed the assessment roll in L.I.D. No. 646, the City Clerk is hereby authorized to give notice of hearing on said roll, to property owners by publication as required by law; said hearing to be Tuesday, September 6, 1949, at 10 o'clock A.M: carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call. Moved by Clark, seconded by Bishop that this being the time for receiving bids for surfacing 31st Avenue North and 23rd Avenue South, L.I.D's 675 and 673, respectively, the following were received: Perry Hayes $6557.50; Gallagher and Brandt $4836.46; Larry DeBlasio $4293.46. The bid of Larry DeBlasio in the sum of $4293.46 being the lowest and best bid, said award was made to him and the Mayor and City Clerk authorized to enter into a contract on behalf of the City of Yakima, upon filing of the proper bond: carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call. Moved by Buck, seconded by Clark that the following report of L.I.D. No. 649 by the City Engineer be accepted: carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call. The City Commission Yakima, Washington Gentlemen: The Englewood Sewer District, which is L.I.D. No. 649, is ready for accep- tance except for some work to be done at the P.P. & L. Wasteway, that cannot be done until this fall when the water is turned off. I suggest that the final payment be made and that the 'Contractor deposit $1,000.00 with the (City to take care of the cost of this work. It is not desirable to hold this district up any longer, because of the extra interest involved. Yours very truly, A.B. No. 655,. and there being no objections in writing or other- wise to said assessment roll or any part thereof; It is ordered that Ordinance No. B- 1037 confirming said assessment roll and every part thereof, be passed as read: carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call. ORDINAN °CE NO. B -1037, confirming the assessment roll covering Local Improvement Dis- trict No. 655 as created and established by Ordinance No. B-940 of the Ordinances of the City of Yakima, Moved by Clark, seconded by Buck that this being the time for the hearing on the assess- ment roll in L.I.D. No. 660, and there being no objections in writing or otherwise to said assessment roll or any part thereof; It is ordered that Ordinance No. B -103$, confirming said assessment roll and every part thereof, be passed as read: carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO. B -1038, confirming the assessment roll covering Local Improvement Dis- trict No. 660 as created and established by Ordinance No. B -1005 of the Ordinances of the City of Yakima.
