The City Commission met in regular session; Mayor Buck and Commissioner Bishop present
on roll call. ,Clark absent.-
The minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, August 1st; special meeting and adjourned
meeting thereof were approved as read.
Moved by Buck, seconded by Bishop that this being the time for receiving bids for coal
for the year 1950, the following were received: Yakima {Cascade Fuel Co. $13.50 to $14.
85 per ton, Western Fuel Co. $13.30 to .$$.14.70 per ton, Rovig Fuel Co. $13.30 to $13.85
per ton, Artificial Ice and Fuel Co. 13.30 to $13.75 per ton and Triangle Fuel Co.
$13.30 to "$16.15 per,ton. The bid of the Yakima Cascade Fuel Co. in the sum of $14.98
per ton was accepted as the best bid: carried Buck and Bishop voting aye on roll call.

Moved by Buck, seconded by Bishop that this being the time for receiving bids for the
purchase of a Pick -Up Truck, the following were received: (Cormier Chev. (Co. $1445.67,
Luisi Sales & Service Co. $1367.70, Hahn Motor Co. $1444.57, Sarver Tire Service
$2127.99, Cahoon Motor Co. $1295.00. The bid of Cahoon Motor Co. was accepted as the
lowest and best bid: carried Buck and Bishop voting aye on roll call. Clark absent.
Moved by Bishop, seconded by Buck that this being the time for the hearing on Resolutio
No. C -850 providing for a domestic water system on South 23rd Avenue and Bonnie Doone,
and there being no objections in writing or otherwise to said improvement or any part
thereof; It is ordered that Ordinance No. B -1036 creating a Local Improvement District
be passed as read: carried Buck and Bishop voting aye on roll call. Clark absent.
ORDINANCE NO. B -10369 providing for the improvement of property in the City of Yakima,
Washington, by the construction of a domestic water system, establishing a local im-
provement district, providing for the method of payment therefor and creating a special
fund.
RESOLUTION N0. :C -854, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION-OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA, WN:
That it is its intention to improve the lots and tracts of .land
included within the following described district by constructing pipe'sewers with the
necessary wye branches,.manholes, flush tanks and water connectioris` therefor, all of
said improvements to be constructed in full accordance with the plans and specification!
to be prepared by the City Engineer and filed with the City Clerk.
T he' district to be served by and specially benefited by and
assessed for the above described improvement is situate within the City of Yakima,
Yakima County, Washington, and is bounded as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of Viola Avenue and
Boelker Avenue; the southerly along Voelker Avenue
extended to Mead Avenue; thence westerly along Mead
Avenue to 16th Avenue South; thence northerly along
16th Avenue South to Lenox Avenue; thence easterly
along Lenox Avenue to Cornell Avenue; thence southerly
along Cornell Avenue to Viola Avenue; thence easterly
along Viola Avenue to the point of beginning, except
therefrom MarVista Addition.
All persons who may desire to object to said proposed improve-
ment are hereby notified to appear and present such objection, if any, at a meeting of
the City Commission to be held at its office in the City Hall in the City of Yakima,
Yakima County, Washington, at the hour,of 10 otclock a.m., on Monday, the 12th day of
September, 1949, which time and place are hereby fixed for the hearing of all matters
relating to said proposed.improvement or objections thereto, and for determining the
method'of payment for said improvement; and the City Clerk is hereby directed to.give
due notice of said hearing and of the intention to make the aforesaid improvement.
The cost and expense of said improvement, including the cost of
acquiring right of way easements, engineering, surveying, advertising, publication of
notices, and all other expenses incident thereto, shall be borne by and assessed again-
st all of the property legally and properly assessable therefor.as provided by law and
as above described; and the City Engineer is hereby directed to submit to the City Com-
mission at or prior to the date fixed herein for said hearing, all of the data and
other information required by law to be by him submitted.
