T he -City :Commission met in. regular session; Commissioners Bishop,and Clark present on
roll call. Buck absent.
The minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, June 20, 1949 and adjourned meeting there-
of were approved as read.
Moved by Bishop, seconded by Clark that t his being the time for the hearing on Resolu-
tion No. C -8.37 providing for surfacing Second Avenue South from West Pine Street to -
Division ,aa d Division from Broadway to the east line of Second Avenue South and by
constructing a storm sewer on Second Avenue and there being.no objections in writing
or otherwise to said improvement or any part thereof; It is ordered that Ordinance
No. B -1022 creating a Local Improvement District be passed as read: carried Bishop and
Clark voting aye on roll call. Buck absent.
ORDINANCE NO. B -1022, prbviding_for the improvement of property in the ,City of Yakima,
Washington, by grading, ballasting and surfacing and also by the construction of a
storm sewer; establishing a Local Improvement District; providing for the method of
payment therefor and creating a special fund.
Moved by Clark, seconded by Bishop that this being the time for the hearing on Resolu-
tion No. C -839 providing for the construction of a domestic water system on Swan Avenue
etc. and there being a petition filed by objectors in said district; It is ordered
that said hearing be postponed to Tuesday, July 5, 1949, at 10 o'clock a.m: carried
Bishop and!Clark voting aye on roll call. Buck absent.
Moved by Clark, seconded by Bishop that this being the time for the hearing on Resolu-
tion No. C -840 providing for a sewer system in Menjanker Subdivision and there being no
objections in Writing or otherwise to said improvement, or any part thereof; It is
ordered that Ordinance No. B -1023, creating a local improvement district for said work,
be passed as read: carried Bishop and Clark present on roll call. Buck absent.
ORDINANCE NO. B -1023, providing for the improvement of property in the .City of Yakima,
Washington, by the construction of a sewer; establishing a Local Improvement District,
providing for the method of payment therefor and creating a special fund.
Moved by C lark, seconded by Bishop that the City Clerk is hereby authorized to advertise
for bids for constructing a sewer system in the Menjanker Subdivision L.I.D. No. 672,
and also for grading, ballasting and surfacing South Second Avenue and constructing a
storm sewer in L.I.D. 671; said bids to be received on Monday, July 11, 1949, at 10 :00
o'clock A.M carried Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call. Buck absent.
Moved by (Clark, seconded by Bishop that this being the time for receiving bids for
paving the alleys in Block Four,'Elliott Heights Addition and Block 149, Huson's Addi-
tion in L.I.D. No. 669, the following were received : Lone Pine Paving Co. $2978.25
and Columbia Asphalt Paving Co. $2526.50. The bid of Columbia Asphalt Paving Co. was
accepted as the lowest and best bid and the Mayor and City Clerk authorized to execute
a contract on behalf of the City of Yakima for doing said work upon filing of the
proper bond as provided by law: carried Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call.

RESOLUTION NO.fC -847, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE (CITY OF YAKIMA, WN:
That it is its intention to improve 31st Avenue North, beginning
at a point 656 feet north of Summitview Avenue and extending northerly therefrom a
distance of 359.4 feet, in the City of Yakima by constructing concrete curbs arid.gutter;
along said Avenue and by grading, ballasting and surfacing the same, all of said im-
provement to be constructed in full accordance with the plans and specifications to be
prepared by the City Engineer and filed with the City Clerk.
The district to be served by and assessed for the above describ
improvement is situate in Yakima County, Washington and described as follows, to -wit:
Lots 1 to 12, inclusive, of Village Heights
Addition to Yakima, Washington.
All persons who may desire to object to said proposed improvement
are hereby notified to appear and present such objections, if any, at a meeting of the
City Commission to be held at its office in the City Hall in the City of Yakima, Yakima
County, Washington, at the hour of 10 o'clock a.m., on Monday, the 18th day of July,
1949, which time and place are hereby fixed for the hearing of all matters relating to
said proposed improvement or objections thereto, and for determining the method of pay-
ment for said improvement; and the City Clerk is hereby directed to give due notice of
said hearing and of the intention to make the aforesaid improvement.
The cost and expense of said improvement, including the cost of
acquiring right of way easements, engineering, surveying, advertising, publication of
notices, and all other expenses incident thereto shall be borne by and assessed against
all of the property legally and properly assessable therefor as provided by law and as
above described; and the City Engineer is hereby directed to submit to the ,City Commis-
sion at or prior to the date fixed herein for said hearing, all of the data and other
information required by law to be by him submitted.
ADOPTED BY THE CITY COMMISSION, this 27th day of June, 1949.

The City Commission met pursuant to adjournment, Commissioners Bishop and Clark present
on roll call. Buck absent.
Moved by Bishop, seconded by Clark that the City Engineer having filed his written re-
port that L.I.D. No..656 had been completed and is ready for acceptance; It is ordered
that said work be accepted and the City Engineer instructed to prepare an. assessment
roil for said district: carried Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call. Buck absent.
Moved by Bishop, seconddd by Clark that the payrolls for the month of June, 194.9;•. be
allowed and the City (Clerk authorized to issue warrants therefor: carried Bishop and
Clark present on roll call. Buck absent.
Moved by Bishop,'seconded by Clark that we do now adjourn: carried Bishop andrClark
voting aye on roll call. Buck absent.
