The minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, May 9, 1949, were approved as read. Moved by Bishop, seconded by Clark that this being the time for the continued hearing on Resolution No.-C-827, providing for an irrigation system, • and there being insufficien protest in writing or otherwise to said improvement or any part thereof; It is ordered that Ordinance No. B -1009 creating a local improvement district for said work be passed as read: carried Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call. Buck absent., ORDINANCE NO.-B -1009, providing for the improvement of property in the City of Yakima, Washington, by constructing an irrigation system to serve various lots and tracts of land; establishing a local improvement district; providing for the method of payment therefor, and creating a special fund. Moved by Bishop, seconded by Clark that this being the time for 'the hearing on Resolu- tion No. C -829, providing for curbs and gutters on Lenox to Mead, etc. and there.being insufficient protest in writing or otherwise to said improvement, or any part thereof; It is ordered that Ordinance No. B -1010 creating a local improvement district for said work.be passed as read: carried Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call. B -1010, providing for the improvement of certain property by the con- struction of concrete curbs and gutters; establishing ,a Local Improvement District; pro- viding for the method of payment therefor and creating a special fund. ORDINANCE NO. B -1011, amending Ordinance No. B -606 entitled "AN ORDINANCE relating to and regulating the operation of the Water Department of the City of Yakima; providing for the management and control thereof; providing for rules regulating and fixing the use and price of water supplied by the City and connections therewith; amending and rewriting Ordinance A- 988'as amended; providing penalties for the violati'on.thereof; repealing certain ordinances and declaring an emergency." . Moved by .*Clark, seconded by Bishop that Ordinance No. B -1011 be passed as read: carried Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call. Buck absent. RESOLUTION NO. C -834, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA, WN.: That it is its intention to improve Pleasant Avenue from Lenox Avenue to Viola Avenue In the City of Yakima by constructing concrete curbs and gutters along said Avenue and by grading, ballasting and surfacing the same, all of said im- provement to be constructed in full accordance with the plans and specifications to be prepared by the City Engineer and filed with the City :Clerk. The district to be served by and assessed for the above described improvement is situate in Yakima County, Washington and described as follows, to -wit: Beginning at the intersection of the east line of Pleasant Avenue with the south line of Lenox Avenue; thence easterly along the south line of Lenox Avenue a distance of 141.25 feet; thence southerly and parallel with the east line of Pleasant Avenue to the center line of Viola Avenue; thence westerly along the center line .of "Viola Avenue to a point 140 feet west of the west line of Pleasant Avenue; thence northerly and parallel with - the west line of Pleasant Avenue to the south line of Lenox Avenue; thence easterly along the south line of Lenox Avenue to the point of beginning. All persons who may desire to object to said proposed improve- ment are hereby notified to appear and present such objections, if any, at a meeting of the City Commission to be held at its office in the City Hall in the City of Yakima, Yakima County, Washington, at the hour of 10 o'clock a.m., on Monday, the 6th day of June, 1949, which time and place are hereby fixed for the hearing of all matters re- lating to said proposed improvement or objections thereto, and for determining the method of payment for said improvement; and the City Clerk is hereby directed to give due notice of said hearing and of the intention to make the aforesaid improvement. The cost and expense of said improvement, including the cost of acquiring right of way easements, engineering, surveying, advertising, publication of notices, and all other expenses incident thereto, shall be borne by and assessed against all of the property legally and properly assessable therefor as provided by law and as above described; and.the -City Engineer is hereby directed'to submit to the City Comm- ission at or prior to the date fixed herein for said hearing, all of the data and other information required by law to be by him submitted. C -8351 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY ;COMMISSION OF ThE CITY OF YAKIMA, WN: That it is its intention to improve the alleys extending from West Chestnut Street to Bell Street between Sixteenth Avenue South and Seventeenth Avenue South, and also extending from East "A" Street to East "B" Street between North Seventh Street and North Eighth Street, by paving the same with asphaltic concrete, placed on a gravel base, all of said improvements to be constructed in full accordance with the plans and specifications to be prepared by the City Engineer and filed with the City Clerk.
