The City (Commission met in regular session,, Mayor Buck and Commissioners Bishop and
Clark present on roll call.
The minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, April 18,. 1949, were approved as read.
Moved by Buck, seconded by Clark that this being the time for the hearing on Resolution
No. C -823 providing for an irrigation system in the Fruitval6-District, and there being
objection on the part of certain property owners; It is ordered that said hearing be
continued for one week: carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call.
RESOLUTION NO.-C -829, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA, WN:
That it is its intention to improve South Seventh Avenue'in* the
City of Yakima between Lenox Avenue and Mead Avenue by constructing concrete curbs and
gutters along said Avenue and by grading and surfacing the same, all of said improve-
ment to be constructed in full accordance with the plans and specifications to be pre-
pared by the City Engineer and filed with the City Clerk.
The district to be served by and assessed for the above describ
improvement is situate in Yakima County, Washington and described as follows, to -wit:
Beginning at the intersection of the south line of
Lenox Avenue and 7th Avenue South, thence east to a
point midway between 7th Avenue South and Cornell
Avenue; thence south to a point on the north line of
Mead Avenue midway between Cornell Avenue and 7th
Avenue South; thence west along the north line of
Mead Avenue to a point midway between 7th Avenue
South and 8th Avenue South; thence north to a point
on the south line of Lenox Avenue midway between 8th
Avenue South and 7th Avenue South; thence east along
the south line of Lenox Avenue to the point of
beginning.
All persons who may desire to object to said proposed improve-
ment are hereby notified to appear and present such objections, if any, at a meeting
of the City Commission to be held at its office in the City Hall in the City of Yakima,
Yakima County, Washington, at the hour of 10 o'clock A.M., on Monday, the 16th day of
May, 1949, which time and place are hereby fixed for the hearing of all matters re-
lating to said proposed improvement or objections thereto, and for determining the
method of payment for said improvement; and the -City Clerk is hereby directed to give
due notice of said hearing and of the intention to make the aforesaid improvement.
The cost and expense of said improvement, including the cost
of acquiring right of way easements, engineering, surveying, advertising, publication
of notices, and all other expenses incident thereto, shall be borne by and assessed
against all'of the property legally and properly assessable therefor as provided by
law and as above described; and the City Engineer is hereby directed to submit to the
City Commission at or prior to the date fixed herein for said hearing, all of the data
and other information required by law to be by him submitted.

The City Commission met pursuant to adjournment, Mayor Buck and Commissioners Bishop
and Clark present on roll call.
Moved by Bishop, seconded by Buck that the payrolls for the month of April, 1949, be
allowed and the City Clerk authorized to issue warrants as follows : - Various'Depts.
7064.32; Fire Dept. $16,165.00; Engineers $3000.00; Police $14,615.00; Library
2,478.00; Cemetery $457.80; Street $715.00; Irrigation $1,065.00; F.R. & P. $2,122.30;
P.R.-& P. $310.00; Water $18,305.65: carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll
call.
Moved by Buck, seconded by Bishop that we do now adjourn: carried Buck, Bishop and
Clark voting aye on roll call.
