Mayor Buck and Commissioners Bishop and Clark present on roll call. The minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, March 28th, 1949:1 and adjourned meeting thereof be approved as read. RESOLUTION NO. 'C -823, BE IT RESOLVED BY" THE 'CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY. OF. YAKIMA, WN. That it is its intention to construct an irrigation system to serve the following described property situate in the City of Yakima, Yakima County, Washington, to -wit: Beginning at the intersection of Sixth Avenue North and Jerome Avenue; thence westerly-along Jerome Avenue and Jerome Avenue extended westerly to Sixteenth Avenue Forth; thence northerly along Sixteenth .Avenue North to Fruitvale Boulevard; thence easterly along Fruitvale Boulevard to Sixth Avenue North; thence southerly along Sixth Avenue North to the- point of beginning. Said improvement to consist of the installation of necessary mains, laterals•, service connections and other appurtenances for the purpose of delivering water for irrigation purposes to each lot within the proposed district described above and to be constructed in full accordance with the plans and specifications to be prepared by the City Engineer and filed with the :City Clerk. - All persons who may desire to object to said proposed improve- ment are hereby notified to appear and present such objection, if any, at a meeting of the City Commission to be held at its office in the City stall in the ,City of Yakima, Yakima County, Washington, at the hour of 10 o'clock A.M., on Monday, the 25th day of April, 1949, which time and place are hereby fixed for the hearing of all matters re- lating to said proposed improvement or objections thereto, and for determining the method of payment for said improvement; and theCity Clerk is hereby directed to give due notice of said hearing and of the intention to make the aforesaid improvement, The cost and expense of said improvement, including the cost of acquiring right of way easements, engineering, surveying, advertising, publication of notices, and all other expenses incident thereto, shall be borne by and assessed against all of the property legally and properly assessable therefor as provided by law and as above described; and the?City Engineer is hereby directed to submit to the City Commission at; or prior to the date fixed herein for said hearing, all of the data and other information required by law to be by him submitted. B -9999 rezoning Lots 1, 2, 3, 4 and the South 20 feet of Lot 5 of Craig Addition and the East 80.86 feet of Lot 1 of Hunsigner's Addition. Moved by Buck, seconded by Clark that Ordinance No. B -999 be passed as read: carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call. Moved by Bishop, seconded by Buck that the report of the Investment Committee for in- vestments for the month of March is hereby approved as follows: City Commission, Yakima,. Washington. ADJOURNED MEETING, WEDNESDAY,*- APRIL 6, 1949 The (City (Commission met pursuant to adjournment, Mayor Buck and Commissioners Bishop and-Clark present on roll call. Meeting was in regard to Local Improvement District No. 650. There were about 30 property owners present and there were five communications,in writin, four of which were opposed to going ahead with this work and one was' in favor of the work immediately. The mayor asked the city engineer to make a statement as to the proceedings up to date, which was done, after which an informal discussion was had. A showing of hands was asked for, but the commission not 'being satisfied with the accuracy of such report asked for indications in- writing and those present were asked to indicate their opposi- tion, or otherwise, to the work. There were seven signatures indicating approval of the plan to go ahead with the work in the immediate future, and 19 in opposition. These were in addition to the separate communications mentioned above. It was moved by Buck that the project be- indefinitely postponed and the motion was not seconded. = The meeting ended with an informal discussion and no formal adjournment was taken.
