The City !Commission met in regular session, Mayor Buck and Commissioners Bishop and
Clark present on roll call.
The minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, February 7, 1949, were approved as read.
Moved by Bishop, seconded by Buck that the City Attorney be instructed to prepare an
emergency ordinance in compliance with Superior _Court Order No. 35369, providing for
salary of M. E.. Bailey of the Fire Department: carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting
aye on roll call.
Moved by Bishop, seconded by Buck that the ordinance creating an emergency for the pay-
ment of $1287.50 for the purchase of 500 feet of fire hose, contracted for in October
of 1948, but not delivered until January 11, 1949, said purchase not being provided for
in the 1949 budget, be laid on the table for one week: carried Buck, Bishop and ,Clark
voting aye on roll call.
RESOLUTION NO. C -814, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA, WASHINGTON:
That it is its intention to construct a domestic water system to
serve all of the lots and tracts of land included within the following described dis-
trict situated in Yakima County, Washington:
Beginning at the southeast corner of the NE quarter
of Section 13- 13 -18; thence westerly a distance of
169.7 feet; thence northerly and parallel with the
east line of said Section 13 to the north line of
Lot 29 of Philips Suburban Tracts which line is
the north corporate limits of the City of Yakima;
thence easterly along said north line to a point
160 feet east of the east line of North Fourth
Street; thence southerly and parallel with said
easterl-y.; line a distance of 330 feet; thence east -
erly to °a point 165 feet west of the westerly line
of North Sixth Street; thence northerly and parallel
with said westerly line a distance of 132 feet;
thence easterly to North Sixth Street; thence
southerly along North Sixth Street to the north line
of Block One of .Cascade Addition; thence easterly
along said north line to North Seventh Street;
thence southerly along North Seventh Street to the
South line of the northwest quarter of Section
18- 13 -19; thence westerly along said south line to
the point of beginning..
Said improvement to consist of the installation of the necessary
mains, fire hydrants, valves and other appurtenances for the purpose of supplying
water for domestic use, and to be constructed in full accordance with the plans and
specifications to be prepared by the City Engineer and filed with the {City Clerk.
All persons who may desire to object to said proposed improve-
ment are hereby notified to. appear and present such objection, if any, at a meeting of
the City Commission, to be held at its office in the City Hall in the City of Yakima,
Yakima County, Washington, at the hour of 10 :00 o'clock A.M., on Monday, the 14th day
of March., 1949, which time and place are hereby fixed for the hearing on all matters
relating to the said proposed improvement, or objections thereto, and for determining
the method of payment therefor; and the City Clerk is hereby directed to give due notic(
of said hearing and of the intention to make the aforesaid improvement.
The cost and expense of said improvement, including the cost of
acquiring right of way easements, engineering, surveying, advertising, inspection, pub-
lication of notices and all other expenses incident thereto shall be borne by and
assessed against all of the property legally and properly assessable therefor, as pro-
vided by law and as above described; and the City Engineer is hereby directed to sub-
mit to the City Commission at or prior to the date fixed herein for said hearing, all
of the data and other information required by law to be by him submitted.

A RESOLUTION fixing the time for hearing on Petition for Vacation of a portion of Street
WHEREAS, a Petition has been filed with the City Commission of
the City of Yakima, a municipal corporation, praying for the vacation of a. portion of
a street described as follows, to -wit:
A strip 718" wide and 140 feet long, lying in East Spruce
Street, in Yakima, Washington, described as follows, to -wit:
Beginning at the Southeast corner of Lot 17, Block 13, Town
of North Yakima, Yakima !County, Washington; thence along the

South line of said Lot 17, in a Westerly direction 140 feet.;
thence in.a Southerly direction parallel to the East line of
Front Street projected, 71811; thence in an Easterly direction
parallel to the South line of said Lot 17, 140 feet; thence
along West.line of Alley between Front and First Streets, pro-
jected, into the intersection of East - Spruce Street and Front
Street 71811 to the point of beginning.
Now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY 'THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
That said petition shall be brought on for hearing and deter-
mination on Monday, the 14th day of March, 1949, at the hour of 10 :00 o'clock in the
forenoon on said day at the office of the City Commission of the 'City of Yakima, at the
City Hall in Yakima, Yakima County, Washington, or as soon thereafter as the same may
be heard, and that notice of such hearing be given as provided by law.
