The minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, January 3, 1949, were - approved as read: carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call. Moved by Clark, seconded by Bishop that this being the time for the hearing on Resolutioi No. C -810, providing for the construction of a sewer on No. 31st Avenue and other street: in said district, said hearing is hereby postponed until Monday, January 17, 1949, at 10 o'clock A.M: carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call. Moved by Buck, seconded by Bishop that the , recommendation of the Planning rCommission, that Lots 19 and 20, Block 2 and Lots 1 and 2, Block 3 in Modern Addition, be added to the Business District of Yakima, is hereby approved and the'City Attorney authorized to prepare an ordinance providing for said change: carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call. „ Moved by Bishop, seconded by Buck that the ordinance providing for an extra employee for the Police Dept. for the year '1949, be laid on the table for one week: carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call. Moved by Bishop, seconded by Buck that this being the time for receivin bids for a car for the Meat Inspector, the bid of Burrows Motor Co. in the sum of 1714.54 less $275.00 for old car, or $1439.54, said bid being the only one received award was made to said Coa•carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call. Moved by Bishop, seconded by Buck that this being the time for receiving bids for a Tractor and Dozer for the Sanitation Dept., the bid of the South Tacoma tiuelding and Equipment Co. in the sum of $1045.00 was accepted; said bid being the only one received: carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call. Moved by Buck, seconded by Bishop that .t his being the time for receiving bids on sand and gravel for the year 1949, bids received as follows: Valley Pioneer Cement Co., $78'76.00;- Riverside Sand and Gravel Co., $10,675.00; Leo S. 'Ross Construction Co., $14,735.00; Yakima Cement Products Co., $9575.00; G & E Construction Co., $12,941.00; The bid of Valley Pioneer Cement Co., in the suin of $7,876.00 was accepted as the lowest bid: carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO. B -963, amending Ordinance No. B -99 entitled: "AN ORDINANCE relating to and regulating plumbing, drainage and gas fitting in the City-of Yakima, providing for the enforcement thereof, providing penalties for violation, and repealing Ordinances No. A -810, A -699, A -642, A -641, A -387, A -367, A -124, and all other ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict therewith." Moved by Clark, seconded by Bishop that Ordinance No. B -963 regulating plumbing etc., and amending Ordinance No. B -99, be passed as read: carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call. Moved by Buck, seconded by Bishop that we do now adjourn to meet Tuesday, January 11, 1949, at 10 o'clock A.M. for receiving bids on construction of City Hall Building: carried Buck, Bishop and Clark voting aye on roll call.
