DECEMBER '31, 1956
The City Commission met in regular session, Mayor Alderson, Commissioners Schutt and
Mathews present on roll- call. City Attorney absent.
This being the time for the hearing on the assessment roll for L.I.D. No. 830, being
the Fair Avenue Domestic Water District, and there being no objections in writing or
otherwise to said assessmentr.°oll or any part thereof, it was MOVED by Mathews, seconded
by Schutt that Ordinance No. B -1978 confirming said assessment roll and every part
thereof be passed as read: carried, Alderson, Schutt and Mathews voting aye on roll
call.
ORDINANCE NO. 9-1978, AN ORDINANCE confirming the assessment roll covering Local
Improvement District No. 830 as created and established by Ordinance No. B -1813 of the
Ordinances of the City of Yakima.
Moved by Mathews, seconded by Schutt that Ordinance No. B -1979 transferi_ng funds within
the Street Department's 1956 budget, amount of said transfer and distribution fully
set forth in said ordinance, be passed as read: carried, Alderson, Schutt and Mathews
voting aye on roll call.
ORDINANCE NO. B -1979, AN ORDINANCE providing for the transfer of funds within the
Street Fund, and declaring an emergency:
Moved by Mathews, seconded by Schutt that Resolution No. C -1449, being a resolution., of
intention to construct an irrigation system in Lots'2 to 33 inclusive of Westview Addi-
tion and other Lots and Blocks fully described in said resolution, and fixing the date
of hearing as Monday, the 4th day of February, 1957 at the hour of 8 o'clock p.m. be
passed as read: carried, Alderson, Schutt and Mathews voting aye on roll call.
RESOLUTION NO. C -1449, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA,
WASHINGTON:
That it is its intention_ to construct an irrigation system to
serve the following described property,--situate in the Gi.ty of Yakima, Yakima County,
Washington,'.to -wit:
Lots 2 to 33 inclusive of Westview Addition;
Lots 1 to 13 and 16 to 27 inclusive of Liebert Addition;
Blocks 1, 2'and 3 of Rose Park;
Lots 1 to 18, inclusive, of Petzel Addition;
Lots 1 to 40 of the unrecorded plat of Richards Half acre Homes,
being the East 112 SE4 NE4 of Sec. 27- 13 -1.8;
The South TO feet of the West 110 feet of the East 165 feet
of the W2 NE-IL 4 of Section 27- 13 -18; also the South 140 feet
of the North 170 feet of the East half of the NW4 NE4 NE-1- o of
Section 27- 13 -18;
Also the SW-1 4 NW4 NW4—L of Section 26 -13 -18 which includes Lots 1 tc
38 of the Swan Tracts and a portion of Block 9 of the Plat of
Seca 36- 13 -18.
said improvement to consist of the construction of the necessary mains, laterals,
service connections and other appurtenances for the purpose of delivering water for
irrigation purposes to each lot and tract within the proposed district; and to be con-
structed in full accordance with the plans and specifications to be prepared by the
City Engineer and filed with the City Clerk.
All persons who may desire to object to said proposed improve-
ment are hereby notified to appear and present such objections, if any, at a meeting of
the City Commission to be held at its office in the C'ty Hall in the City of Yakima,
Yakima County, Washington, at the hour of 8 p.m. on Monday, the 4th day of February,
1957; which time and place are hereby fixed for the hearing of all matters relating to
said proposed improvement or objections thereto; and for determining the method of pay-
ment for said improvement; and the City Clerk is hereby directed to give due notice of
said hearing and of the intention to make the aforesaid improvement.
The cost and expense of said improvement, including the cost of
acquiring right of way easements, engineering, surveying, advertising, publication of
notices, and all other expenses incident thereto, shall be borne by and assessed against
all of the property legally and properly assessable therefor as provided by law and as
above described; except that the Irrigation Maintenance Fund will pay $2200.00 as a
portion of the cost of the main line extending from the Yakima "Valley Canal southerly
to Westview Addition; and the City Engineer is hereby directed to submit to the City
commission at or prior to the date fixed herein for said hearing, all of the data and
other information required by law to be by him submitted.
ADOPTED BY THE CITY COMMISSION this 31st day of December, 1956.

The City Commission, having',:to consider other matters of importance to the City of
Yakima, this meeting was postponed and called at the hour of 10 o'clock on Thursday,
January 3, 1957•
POSTPONED MEETING, THURSDAY, JANUARY 3, 1957, 10 011-CLOCK A.M.
The City Commission met pursuant to postponment, Mayor. alderson, Commissioners Schutt
and Mathews, present on roll call. City Attorney absent.
The minutes of the regular meeting of December 24, 1956 and adjourned meeting thereof
were approved as read.

Moved by Mathews, seconded by Schutt that Ordinance No. B -1980 providing for the form
of bonds and fixing the time of delinquency of installments on L I.D. No. 840, being
the Swan Avenue Curb and Gutter District, be passed as read: carried, Alderson, Schutt
and Mathews voting; aye on roll call.
Bids having been received on December 2L}, 195$ for the purchase of Gasoline, regular and-
ethyl, Diesel Fuel, Motor Oil, Kerosene, Gear Oil, Chasis Lube Grease, Bituunuls Seal Kote
Solvent, PS300 Heating Oil and MC -2 and MC -3 for the City of Yakima, and after due
consideration. by the City Commis.sion,it was MOVED by Mathews, seconded by Schutt that
all bids be rejected except those bids received for regular and ethyl
gasoline: carried, Alderson, Schutt and Mathews voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Mathews, seconded by Schutt that the bid of Utah Oil Company being the lowest
and best bid on regular and ethyl gasoline, be awarded: carried, Alderson, Schutt and
Mathews voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Mathews, seconded by Schutt that the City Clerk be and is hereby authorized to
call for bids on Diesel Fuel, Motor Oil, Kerosene, Gear Oil, Chasis Lube Grease, Bitumuls
Seal Kote Solvent, PZ 300 Heating Oil and M6 -2 and ME -3, said bids to be received on or
before the hour of 10 otclock on Monday, the 21st day of January 1957: carried,
Alderson, Schutt and Mathews voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Mathews, seconded bIT Schutt that we do now adjourn to meet again in regular
session at the hour of 10 o'clock a.m. on Monday the 7th day of January, 1957• carried,
