The minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, December 12, 1955, were approved as read. Moved by Huey, seconded by Huza that this being the time for receiving bids for the con- ID of a sewerage lift station and pipe lines and for the air compressor station; said bids were read by the City Clerk and. referred to*the City Engineer for tabulation: carried, Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. This being the time for. hearing on the assessment roll covering L.I.D. No. 811,Providin,� for the Prasch Avenue Curb and Gutter District, and there being no objections in writing or otherwise to said assessment roll or any part thereof; it was MOVED by Huey, seconded by Huza that Ordinance No. B -1795 confirming said assessment roll and every part thereof be passed as read: carried, Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO., B -1795, AN ORDINANCE confirming the assessment roll covering Local Improvement District No. 811_ as created and established by Ordinance No. B -1700 of the Ordinances of the City of Yakima. This being the time for the hearing on the assessment roll covering L.I.D. No. 814, pro- viding for the 16th Avenue North Curb and Gutter District and there being no objections in writing or otherwise to said assessment roll-,,or any part thereof; it was MOVED by Huey, seconded by Huza that Ordinance No. B -1796, confirming said assessment roll and every part thereof., be passed as read: carried, Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll_ call. ORDINANCE NO. B -1796, AN ORDINANCE confirming the assessment roll covering Local Improvement District No. 814 as created and established by Ordinance No. B -1713 of the Ordinances of the City of Yakima. This being the time for the hearing on the assessment roll covering L.I.D. No. $16, pro- viding for the Richey-Road Curb and Gutter District, and there being no objections in writing, or otherwise, to said assessment roll or any part thereof; it was MOVED by Huey, seconded by Huza that Ordinance No. B -1797 confirming said assessment roll and every part thereof be passed as read: carried, Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO. B -1797, AN ORDINANCE confirming the assessment roll_ covering Local Improvement District No. 816 as created :nd established by Ordinance No. B -1721 of the Ordinances of the City of Yakima. This being the time for the hearing on the assessment roll covering, L.I.D. No. 820, pro- viding for the Chestnut Park Sewer district, and there being no objections in writing, or otherwise to said assessement roll or any part thereof; it was MOVED by Huey, seconder by Huza that Ordinance No. B -179$ confirming said assessment roll and every part thereof be passed as read: carried, Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO. B -179$, AN ORDINANCE confirming the assessment roll covering Local Improvement District No. 820 as created and established by Ordinance No. B -1737 of the Ordinances of the City of Yakima. Moved by Huza, seconded by Huey that Ordinance No. B -1799 providing for the expenditure of funds riot budgeted for Tahoma Cemetery, which was read by the City Clerk on Monday the 12th day of December and laid on the tAble for one week as provided by law, be passed as read: carried, Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO. B -1799, AN ORDINANCE providing for the expenditure of funds not budgeted for Tahoma Cemetery, and declaring an emergency. Moved by Huey, seconded by Huza that Resolution No. C- 131$, being a Resolution of Inten- tion to construct pipe sewers with the necessary wye branches and manholes on Lots 1 to 16, Westwood Addition; ]Lots 1 to-15 of Ressell Homesites;'Lots 1 to 28 of Englewood Park; Lots 1 to 1.2 Block 4 The Uplands, and the East 125 feet of the West 485 feet of the south 135 feet of the North ' 165 " feet of the Northwest quarter of the Northeast quarter of Section 21 -13 N. Range 18 E.W.M. and fixing the date ' of -hearing on said resolution as Monday, the 9th day of January 1956, at 10 o'clock A.M., be adopted as read: carried, Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. RESOLUTION NO. C -131$, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: That it is its intention to improve the property within the following described districts, by constructing pipe sewers with the necessary Wye branc es and manholes; all of said improvements to be constructed in full accordance`. with the plans -and specifications to be prepared by the City Engineer and filed viith the City Clerk. The districts to be served by and specially benefited by and assessed for the above described improvements are situate in the City of Yakima, Yakima County, fashington,. and described as follows: Lots 1 to 16 inclusive of Westwood Addition; Lots 1 to 15 inclusive of Ressel Homesites; Lots 1 to 28 inclusive-of Englewood Park; Lots 1 and 12, Block 4, The Uplands; and The East 125 feet of the West 485 feet of the South 135 feet of the North 165 feet,of the Northwest quarter of the Northeast quarter of Section 21, Township 13 North, Range 18 E.W.M.: all according to the official plats thereof recorded in the office of the Auditor of Yakima County, WashinF-ton. All persons who may desire to object to said proposed improve- ments are hereby notified to appear and present such objections, if any, at a meeting of the City Commission to be held at its office in the City Hall in the City of Yakima, Yakima,County, Washington, at the hour of 10 o'clock a.m. on Monday the 9th day of January, 1956; which time and place are hereby fixed for the hearing of all matters re- 3 1 H 1 1 1 LJ 1 DECEMBER 19, 1955 lating to said proposed improvements or objections thereto, and for determining the method of payment for said improvements; and the City Clerk is hereby directed to give due notice of said hearing and of the intention to make the aforesaid improvements. All costs and expenses in connection with the construction of said improvements, including the engineering, inspection, advertising, publication of notices, obtaining right -of -way easements and all other expenses incident thereto, shall be levied and assessed - against the above described property as provided by law; and the City Engineer is hereby directed to submit to the City Commission at or prior to the date herein fixed for said "hearing, all of the data and other information required by law to be by him submitted. BURNS Mayor Moved by Huey, seconded by Huza that'Resolution -No. C -1319 accepting the bid of Theodore V. Sirrs in the sum of $105.00 heretofore received for the purchase of that triangular piece of property lying between East Yakima Avenue and Moxee Avenue and authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to execute'a, deed to said property to said Theodore V. Sirrs, for and on behalf of the City of Yakima, be adopted as read: carried, Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. RESOLUTION NO. C -1319, WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. C -1313 adopted on December 5th; 1955, the City of Yakima has advertised for bids f -or the sale of its interest, if any, in the hereinafter described property; and the only bid submitted was that of Theodore V. Sirrs in the slim of $105.00; and it is for the best interest of the City of Yakima that said bid be accepted; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: That the `'ity of Yakima does hereby accepted the bid of Theodore V. Sirrs in the sum of $105.00, and that upon the payment of the said sum, the Mayor and City Clerk on behalf of said city are hereby authorized and directed to ex- ecute and deliver to said Theodore V. Sirrs a quitclaim deed conveying the right, title and interest if any of the City of Yakima in and to the following described real-estate situate in Yakima County, Washington, to-wit: ATTEST: PEARL BENJAMIN City Clerk That portion•of the northeast quarter of the northeast quarter of Section 19, Township 13 North, Range 19 E.W.M., described as follows: Beginning at a point in the north line of Moxee Avenue, 627 feet south and 840 feet west of the northeast corner of said Section; thence North parallel with the east line of said Section 109.8 feet, more or less, to the southerly line of Yakima Avenue; thence southwesterly along said southerly line and said line produced 335.95 feet to the north line of Moxee Avenue produced west; thence East 317.5 feet to the point of beginning. BU RNS Mayor An emergency ordinance was introduced for the expenditure of funds not budgeted for the payment of the acquisition of a portion of Lenox_ Avenue pursuant to condemnation pro- ceeding judgment heretofore entered, was read by the City Clerk and laid on the table for one week as provided by law and the City Charter: carried, ;Burns, Hiu.za,ani Huey voting aye on roll call. An emergency ordinance was introduced providing for the expenditure of funds not budget- ed for the payment of the purchase price of a calculator machine for the City Irrigation Department, was read in full by the 6ity Clerk and _laid on the table for -ohe week: carried, Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved b7r Huey, seconded by Huza that the petition for annexation to the ity of Yakima of one lot at 501 West "I" Street, be set for hearing as of Tuesday the 27th day of December 1955, at 10 o'clock a.m.: carried, Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved by Huey seconded by Huza that the petition for annexation to the City of Yakima of Lots-62 and 63, First Addition to Suburban Acre Homes, be set for hearing as of Tuesday, the 27th day of December at 10 o'clock a.m.: carried, Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved by Huey, seconded by Huza that the petition of the-Metropolitan Park District for the annexation of Kiwanis Park to the City of Yakima, be accepted and referred to the City Attorney for the preparation of the - necessary proceedings therefor: carried, Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved by Huza, seconded by Huey that the Yakima County Insurance Association hereby specifies the Bjerke - Colvin Agency as Serving'Agent for fire insurance for the City of Yakima on a 5 year basis; said agent to'pick up-the expiring policy to consolidate into one policy as current policies: carried, Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved by Huey, seconded by Huza that the City Clerk is hereby authorized to advertise for bids for the purchase of gravel for the City Street Department; said bids to be received on Monday, the 9th day of January 1956, at 10 o'clock a.m.: carried, Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved by Huey, seconded by Huza that the City Clerk is hereby authorized to advertise for bids for the purchase of Gas, Oil, Grease, Lube Oil, Kerosene, Chassis Oil, Diesel Oil and Mc 2 and Mc 3, for the dity of Yakima; said bids to be received on Monday the X44 DECEMBER 19, 1955 16th day of January, 1956, at 10 otclock a.m.: carried, Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. An ordinance was introduced providing for the purchase of a used typewriter for the City Planning Commission, in the sum of $76.47, and read in full by the City Clerk and laid on the table for one week as provided by law and the City ordinances.
