HomeMy WebLinkAbout10/31/1955 Business Meeting�24 OCTOBER 31, 1955 The City Commission met in regular session, Mayor Burns and Commissioners Huza and Huey present on roll call. The minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, October 24, 1955 and adjourned meeting thereof, were approved as read. This being the time for receiving bids for the construction of the Heyduck Park No.2, Sewer System, L.I.D. No. 827, the-following were received: N. L. Kimball Carroll &:, Sanislo De Blasio Bros Paul R. Henley 1,096.00 1,098.60 1,132.00 987.00 Moved by Huey, seconded by Huza that the bid of Paul R. Henley in the sum of $987.00 be accepted as the l6west and best bid,'and the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized t< execute a contract on behalf of the City of Yakima for doing said work upon the filing of the proper bond as provided by law: carried, Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved by Huey, seconded by Huza that the City Engineer having reported the completion of the 33rd Avenue South Domestic dater System, being L.I.D. No. 7$$, said work is hereby accepted, and the City Engineer instructed to prepare an assessment roll for said dis- trict and the City Clerk authorized to give notice of hearing on said assessment roll, for Monday, the 21st day of November,1955, at 10 otclock a.m.: carried, Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved by Huey, seconded by Huza that the claim of Marie Z. Irby, in the sum ofp3,522.00 for damages alleged to have been sustained by reason of falling into an open ditch in : front of her home at number 703 North 16th Avenue, is hereby rejected: carried, Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. Moved by Huey, seconded by Huza that Ordinance No. B -176$, changing the name of that portion.of Division Street between 16th Avenue and 20th Avenue to Tieton Drive, be passe as read: carried, Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO. B -176$, AN ORDINANCE changing the name of that portion of Division Street between 16th Avenue and 20th Avenue, to Tieton Drive. Moved by Huza, seconded by Burns that Ordinance No. B -1769, fixing the time of delinque of assessments and prescribing the form of Bond in L.I.D. 796, be passed as read: carried, Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO. B -1769, AN ORDINANCE fixing the time of delinquency of installments of assessments levied for the payment of the cost of the improvement in Local Improvement District No-796, and providing for the issuance of bonds with coupons attached for the payment of the unpaid portion thereof.. Moved by Huza, seconded by Burns that Ordinance No. B -1770, fixing the time of delin- quency of assessments and prescribing the form of bonds in L.I.D. No. $01, be passed as read,: carried, Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO. B -1770, AN ORDINANCE fixing the.time of delinquency of installments of assessments levied for the payment of the cost of the improvement in Local Improvement District No. $01, and providing for the issuance of bonds with coupons attached for the payment of the unpaid portion thereof. Moved by Huza, seconded by Burns that Ordinance No. B -1771 fixing the time of delin- quency of assessments and prescribing the form of bond in L.I.D. No. 806, be passed as read: carried, Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO. B -17711 AN ORDINANCE fixing the time of delinquency of installments of assessments levied for the payment of the cost of the improvement in Local Improvement District No. 806, and providing for the issuance of bonds with coupons attached for the payment of the unpaid portion thereof. Moved by Huza, seconded by Burns that Ordinance No. B -1772, fixing the time of delin- quency of assessments and prescribing the form of bond in L.I.D. No. 807 be passed as read: carried, Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO. B -1772, AN ORDINANCE fixing the time of delinquency of installments of assessments levied for the payment of the cost of the improvement in Local Improvement District No. 807, and providing for the issuance of bonds with coupons attached for the payment of the unpaid portion thereof. Moved by Huza, seconded by Burns that Ordinance No. B -1773, fixing the time of delin- quency of assessments and prescribing the form of bond in L.I.D. No. 803, be passed as read: carried, Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. ORDINANCE NO. B -1773, AN ORDINANCE fixing the time of delinquency of installments of assessments levied for the payment of the cost of the improvement in Local Improvement District No. 803, and providing for the issuance of bonds with coupons attached for the payment of the unpaid portion thereof. Moved by Huza, seconded by Huey that Resolution No. C- 1299, authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to execute a lease on behalf of the City of Yakima, with Ralph R. Richardson and Virginia Richardson, his wife, adding to a lease heretofore entered into with said Richardsons dated November 18, 1953, an additional area of 24,624 square feet immediately south.of and adjoining the property already under lease, be adopted as read: carried, Burns,, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. RESOLUTION NO. C -1299, WHEREAS, on November 1$, 1953, the City of Yakima as Lessor and Ralph R. Richardson and Virginia S. Richardson, as Lessees, executed a written lease of a portion of the Yakima Municipal Airport therein described expiring on October 31, 1973, with an option to renew for ten additional years; and it is now desired to add to said IN D OCTOBER 31 1955 lease an additional area of 24,624 square feet immediately south of and adjoining the same; CITY OF YAKIMA: .-NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE That it is for the best interests of the City of Yakima that a supplemental lease with Ralph R. Richardson and Virginia S. Richardson, husband and wife for a portion of the Yakima Municipal Airport premises,;more fully described in said supplemental lease, for a period of eighteen (18) years from and after November 1, 1955, with an option to renew said lease for an additional period of ten (10), be executed, in the form heretofore mutually agreed upon, a copy thereof being attached hereto, the same being for the rental and upon the terms and conditions therein more fully provided; and the Mayor and City glerk are hereby authorized, empowered and directed to execute said supplemental lease for and on behalf of said City of Yakima. BURNS Mayor Moved by Huza, seconded by Huey that Resolution No. C -1300, authorizing and instructing the Mayor and City Clerk to execute a lease on behalf of the City of Yakima with Hales Car Rental Service, for the operation of an automobile rental business at the Yakima Municipal Airport for a period of three years commencing September 1, 1955., be adopted as read: carried, Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call. RESOLUTION NO. C -1300, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY C0MMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: That the Mayor and "ity Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute on behalf of said city memorandum of agreement between said City of Yakima and L. W. Hales, doing business as Hales Car Rental Service, for the operation of an automobile rental business at the Yakima Municipal Airport for a period of three years commencing September 1, 1955, including the right to use three parking spaces or stalls near the terminal building parking lot at said airport, the exact location thereof to be designated by the city airport manager, a four by five foot space in the passenger wait- ing room for a counter to be constructed and maintained at the expense of said Hales, and a space of approximately two feet by two feet in the passenger waiting room to accomodate a small stand where literature and information will be available to incoming passengers, in consideration of the ayment to said city of the minimum sum of $420 -000 per year in monthly installments of 935.00 per month, payable monthly in advance on or before the lst day of each month commencing September 1, 1955, during the term of said agreement, plus 10% of the Hales car rental revenue in excess of $6000.00 per year at said Yakima Municipal Airport, in accordance with the terms and provisions of said agree- ment, copy of which is attached hereto.
