The City Commission met in regular session, Mayor Burns and Commissioners Huza and Huey
present on roll call.
The minutes of the regular meeting of Monday, October 3, 1955, and. adjourned meetings
thereof, were approved as read.
This being the time for the hearing on Resolution No. C -1287 providing for the construc-
tion of curbs and gutters on North 2nd Street from I Street to Sycamore, and a report by
the City Engineer showing that a 21.9° protest was filed against said improvement; it war
MOVED by Huey, seconded by Huza that Ordinance No. B- 1754,creating L.I.D. No. 825, be
passed as read: carried, Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call.
ORDINANCE NO. B- 1754, AN ORDINANCE providing for the improvement of certain property by
grading, ballasting, surfacing and constructing concrete curbs and. gutters; establishing
a local improvement district, providing for the method of payment therefor, and creating
a special fund.
This being the time for the hearing on Resolution No. C -1291 providing for the construc-
tion of curbs and gutters on 31st Avenue South from Tieton Drive to a point approximately
637 feet north thereof, and there being no objections in writing or otherwise to said im-
provement, or any part thereof; it was MOVED by Huey, seconded by Huza that Ordinance No.
B -1755, creating L.I..D. No. 826, be passed as read: carried, Burns, Huza and Huey.votin@
aye on roll call.
ORDINANCE NO. B -1755, AN ORDINANCE providing for the improvement of certain property by
grading, ballasting, surfacing and'constructing concrete curbs and, gutters; establishing
a local improvement district, providing for the method of payment therefor., and creating
a special fund.
Moved by Huey, seconded by.Burns..that'Ordinance No. B -1756 fixing the amount of the tax
levies necessary to raise.the amount of.the estimated expenditures of the City of Yakima,
Washington, for the ensuring year to be levied upon the real and personal property of
said City, be passed as read: carried, Burns and Huey voting aye on roll.call. Huza
voting definitely NO.
ORDINANCE NO. B -1756, AN ORDINANCE fixing the amount of the tax levies necessary to
raise the amount of the estimated expenditures of the City of Yakima, Washington, for t
ensuing year to be levied upon the real and personal property of said city.
Moved by Huey, seconded by Huza that Resolution No. C -1297 accepting and approving the
plans, drawings and specifications heretofore prepared by Stevens & Thompson for the co
struction of the sewerage lift and pipe lines for the sewer interceptor project, be
adopted as read: carried, Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call.
RESOLUTION NO. 0-129?, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
That the Yakima City Commission does hereby accept and approve
the plans, drawings and specifications heretofore prepared and submitted by Stevens and
Thompson, consulting engineers, for the.construction of a sewerage lift station and pipe
lines (Part A) and for the construction of an air compressor station together with all
equipment, piping and auxiliaries pertaining thereto (Part B_); and. that bids for the sai
project shall be called for and opened at such time as may be hereafter designated by
Stevens and Thompson subsequent to the final completion by the Great American Indemnity
Company of the J. M. Collins contract for the construction of the South Interceptor Sewe
which is now in progress.
ADOPTED BY.THE CITY COMMISSION THIS 10th day of October, 1955.

Moved by Huza, seconded by Burns that the City Clerk is hereby instructed to advertise
for bids for the construction of curbsand gutters.for improving North 2nd Street in
L.I.D. No. 825, and also for constructing curb: and gutters on South 31st Avenue in
L.I.D. No. 826; said bids to be .rece.ived on Monday, October 24, 1955 at the hour of 10
o'clock a.m.: carried, Burns., Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Huza, seconded by Huey that the bid of Block Distributing; Company for bid here-
tofore received for the purchase of permanent type ethylene glycol base in gallon cans
in the sum of $1.84•, less 2% discount or $1.803 net per gallon is hereby accepted as the
lowest and best bid: carried, Burns, Huza and Huey voting aye on roll call.
Moved by Huza, seconded by Huey that the bid of Morton Salt Company in the sum of 78
cents per sack is hereby accepted as. the lowest and best bid: carried, Burns, Huza and
Huey voting aye on roll call..
