5. PRESENTATION BY YAKIMA HOUSING AUTHORITY REGARDING 1995 -1996
ANNUAL REPORT
Tom Parker, Assistant Executive Director, reported that the
Yakima Housing Authority is healthy and well financially,
learning to live with less resources. The previous five
years were devoted to rehabilitating all of the existing
units and this year they have been completing all the
paperwork related to that project. He answered questions
posed by Council Member Klingele relating to Section 8
housing, cooperation with neighboring Housing Authorities,
and the Youth Build Yakima program. He elaborated on the
status of the Primavera Project. The contract has not yet
been signed because the blanks cannot be filled in until just
after the bonds have been issued. The project is a high
priority with the Housing Authority; however, they are still
looking at all the financing options, including the secondary
mortgage funding with HUD. A commitment was made to the
Council and it is their intention to keep that commitment.
It was MOVED BY PUCCINELLI, SECONDED BY KLINGELE, TO ACCEPT
