Assistant Mayor Adkison was appointed as Chairperson and called the meeting to order
at 1045 a.m The Committee decided to meet the fourth Friday of each month at 10
a.m in the CED Conference room
Appointments to sub - committees.
Appointments to sub - committees were postponed in order to determine if current
Council Members not on the Public Safety Committee could retain their seat on
the sub - committees.
Jail Study update
Chief Rizzi gave a brief overview of the progress of the Jail Study A draft copy of
the LCN jail study was given to Members Ettl and Adkison.
Regional Fire Authority (RFA) update
Chief Willson advised the committee of the progress RFA and noted the Regional
Fire Authority presentation will be made to the full Council on February 26
Fire Inspection update
Chief Willson discussed the process of hiring Fire Inspectors, which should be
hired on the first of March, and the requirements for the position
Greenway safety issues and costs:
Chief Rizzi informed the committee that a Crime Prevention Through
Environmental Design (CPTED) analysis was conducted on the Greenway
Public Works Director Chris Waarvick is reviewing the cost factor of
implementing the safety measures recommended in the CPTED report.
The meeting adjourned at 11 a.m to the next meeting on February 22, 2012,
@1000 a.m in the CED Conference Room in City Hall
