WWEREAS, professional truck drivers deliver goods to every home,
community, school, and business in America, traveling more than 170 billion mzfes and
delivering 6.5 billion tons of freight each year; and
$VJfERE ,4S, professional truck drivers have been honored as among the safest
drivers on our highways, and many have received awards for e4raordinary acts of
heroism and bravery for saving fellow motorists from injury and death; and
` NEREAS, America's professional truck drivers are hard- working men and
women who serve the communities, schools and businesses of the Vnited States with
dedication and prude, and
WI&REAS, the week of September 16 has been designated as National Truck
Driver Appreciation Week in honor of these men and women for their outstanding
contributions to our nation's economic strength and viabafty,
