SUMMARY EXPLANATION:
In the 1990's the City acquired a parcel (Yakima County Assessor Parcel Number 191315-42009)
in Terrace Heights in anticipation of the failing water systems in that area. Yakima County
subsequently developed these systems and the property acquired became surplus to the City's
needs. RCW 35 94.040 requires that a public hearing be held concerning the sale or lease of
property originally acquired for public utility purposes. You are now being requested to set June 19,
2012 as the hearing date for Council consideration of the resolution authorizing the surplus sale of
this city owned property.
