R-2020-118 declaring certain rolling stock surplus and authorizing the City Manager to dispose of said property in a manner most beneficial to the City of Yakima. WHEREAS, the City of Yakima owns various used rolling stock for which the City has no immediate or foreseeable use and which are surplus to the needs of the City ; and WHEREAS, the list of surplus equipment attached includes Equipment Rental assets ER3165, ER3205, ER3229, ER3292, and ER3293; and WHEREAS, ER3165, a 2003 International Vactor Truck is proposed to be sold to Yakima County; and WHEREAS, ER 3205, ER3229, ER3292, and ER 3293 are proposed to be auctioned on the City's online auction site; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it would be in the best interest of the City to dispose of said used rolling stock in the proposed manner or in a manner that is most beneficial to the City of Yakima, now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: The City Council hereby declares the aforementioned rolling stock to be surplus to the needs of the City of Yakima and the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to dispose of said property in a manner most beneficial to the City of Yakima. For Meeting of: October 20, 2020 ITEM TITLE: Resolution declaring certain rolling stock surplus and authorizing disposal of said property in a manner most beneficial to the City of Yakima SUBMITTED BY: Maria Mayhue,Acting Procurement Manager, 509-575-6094 Christina Payer, Buyer, 509-576-6696 SUMMARY EXPLANATION: The City of Yakima's Equipment Rental Division has rolling stock that is surplus to the needs of the City. Said rolling stock is valued at over$15,000 per asset and does not fall under the authority of the City's Surplus Disposal Policy 3-100; therefore, Council must declare the attached list of property that is valued over$15,000 surplus before disposal may begin. The estimated value of each asset is provided on the attached list. City Council approval is requested to declare the attached list of assets as surplus and to authorize the City Manager, through Purchasing, to dispose of said assets in a manner most beneficial to the City. Proceeds from the sale will be assigned to Equipment Rental fund 552.
