Approve March 3rd minutes The minutes from the March 3 meeting were reviewed. Sub Committee Updates: Administrative Workgroup: Merryman reminded the Committee members that we need to have signed confidentiality agreements signed and returned: If you have not turned yours in, please do so. OJJDP has a grant opportunity that is due the end of May that the City will be working on. Also, the student surveys have been distributed, completed and returned. As soon as the information is available, it will be shared with the Committee. Merryman acknowledged and thanked Beraza for working with the SRO's and the schools to get this done. There was discussion about different formats and tools available for future surveys. Suppression: No report. Due to Nick Hughes being out for a couple months, Bohn will chair the suppression sub - committee. Prevention: Valdivia stated that the prevention committee will be meeting next week. Intervention: Marquez reported that the committee met today and reviewed the 1111 problem statements. They will be finalizing the third statement during the next meeting (April 14 2pm at La Casa Hogar). Magallan added that as soon as the problem 41 , statements are identified, they need to be aligned with accomplishments /objectives. Before May 7 the Committee needs to align strategies with existing resources and objectives. Ettl stated that if you need any help with sub - committees, please contact Magallan. Old Business: Retreat Debrief: Ettl stated that tremendous progress was made during the retreat. Magallan reviewed the problem statements from the retreat and encouraged the sub- committees to finalize assignments from the retreat. New Business: Community Profile: The community profile is about 90 percent complete. A draft copy of the first portion was distributed and reviewed. The community profile is critical when it comes to making funding requests. Committee work assignments: Magallan again stressed the importance of the sub- committees for finalizing the problem statements. If you need any assistance you need to contact Magallan before the 10 of April or after April 25 n . Retreat #3 (last one): There was open discussion regarding the timeframe for the third and final retreat. This is the programming piece and is very important in order to finalize the community profile. After discussion, it was decided that the retreat would be on April 29 from 1:00 — 5:00 p.m. and continue on April 30 beginning at 9:00 a.m. This retreat will be at Yakima School District Administration Building on 4 Avenue. Participation is very important. If you are not able to attend both days attending for a short time on either (or both) days would be appreciated. Date for next meeting The retreat will be on April 29 and 30 at Yakima School District Administration Building (104 N. 4 Avenue). The next Steering Committee meeting will be May 5 at 4 p.m. The meeting will be held at Central Washington Comprehensive Mental Health. Good of the Order: Copeland stated that he asked former police chief Tony Wentz to serve on the suppression sub - committee. Ettl expressed concern with the attrition. Attendance and participation are very important as we move into the next phase. Gutierrez stated that some community members expressed interest in serving on sub- committees and they have not been contacted yet.
