AN ORDINANCE annexing property to the City of Yakima and zoning
said property.
11, WHEREAS, proceedings have been held in accordance with all
applicable laws for the annexation to the City of Yakima of
the property hereinafter described, and
WHEREAS, a hearing was duly held on such annexation by the
Yakima County Boundary Review Board as required by law and as a
result of such hearing the Boundary Review Board has approved the
annexation provided for by this ordinance, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to due and legal notice, the City Council
held a public hearing on said annexation on the 19th day of April,
1988 which hearing was continued to the 10th day of May, 1988;
and, as a result thereof, finds that such property should be
annexed to the City of Yakima and further finds that the property
should retain its current zoning pursuant to the Yakima Urban Area
Zoning Map and that such zoning and classification is in accord
with the Yakima Urban Area Comprehensive Plan, the General Plan of
the City of Yakima, that not less than seventy-five percent of the
property owners within the area described below have petitioned
the City Council for annexation, that the needs of the City and
community do require the hereinafter set forth zoning classifica-
tion, and that the highest and best use for said property is as
hereinafter determined, now, therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
Section 1. The following described property, owned by the
City of Yakima is hereby annexed to the City of Yakima,
Washington:
All that part of Sections 17 and 20, Township 13 North,
Range 19 East, W.M. bounded as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the centerline of the
Main Channel of the Yakima River, as it exists March 31,
1987, with the west line of said Section 17, said point
being on the easterly corporate limits of the City of
Yakima as they exist March 31, 1987; thence south-
easterly, along the centerline of the Main Channel of
the Yakima River, to the north line of the south one-
half of Section 20, Township 13 North, Range 19, E.W.M.;
thence westerly along the north line of the south one-
half of Section 20, Township 13 North, Range 19, E.W.M.

to the westerly right-of-way line of Interstate Highway
82, and the easterly Corporate Limits of the City of
Yakima as they exist on March 31, 1987; thence northerly
along said Easterly Corporate Limits of the City of
Yakima to the point of beginning.
Except: That portion of Terrace Heights Drive right-of-
way lying westerly of the centerline of the Main Channel
of the Yakima River, and lying easterly of the west end
of Terrace Heights Drive Bridge No. 213 (Engineer's
Station 28+83 per Yakima County Project No. 1671-1 Road
Construction, Terrace Heights Bridge No. 213).
Section 2. The owners of the hereinbefore described real
property annexed to the City of Yakima shall be required to assume
existing indebtednesses of the City of Yakima.
Section 3. The hereinbefore described real property annexed
to the City of Yakima is hereby zoned as it is currently zoned and
I( depicted on the official zoning map for the unicorporated portion
of the Yakima Urban Area which map is maintained in the Yakima
County Planning Department and which map is incorporated herein by
reference.
Section 4. The next regularly amended Zoning District Map
prepared by and for the City of Yakima shall show said property as
hereinbefore zoned and classified.
Section 5. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed
to file a certified copy of this ordinance with the County Auditor
of Yakima County and with the Board of County Commissioners of
Yakima County, Washington.
Section 6. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
thirty days after its passage, approval and publication as
provided by law and by the City Charter.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, signed and approved this E)th day
