ORDINANCE NO. ^
AN ORDINANCE annexing property to the City of Yakima and zoning said
property.
WHEREAS, proceedings have been held in accordance with all
���� applicable laws for the annexation to the City o f Yakima of the property

hereinafter described, and •
WHEREAS, a hearing was duly held on such annexation by the Yakima
Countv Boundary Review Board as required by law and as a result of such
hearing the Boundary Review Board has approved the annexation provided
for by this ordinance, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to due and legal notice, the City Council held a
public hearing on said annexation on the 18th day of October, 1988; as a
result thereof, finds that such property should be annexed to the City
Of Yakima and further finds that the property should retain its current
zoning pursuant to the Yakima Urban Area Zoning Map and that such zoning
and classification is in accord with the Yakima Urban Area Comprehensive
Plan, the General Plan of the City of Yakima, that not less than
seventy-five percent of the property owners within the area described
below have petitioned the City Council for annexation, that the needs of
the City and community do require the hereinafter set forth zoning
classification, and that the highest and best use for said property is
as hereinafter determined, now, therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA: •
Section 1. The following described property is hereby annexed to
the City of Yakima, Washington:
• Beginning at the intersection of the extended east line of
Lot 27, Plat of Section 36, Township 13 North, Range 18
E.W.M. according to the plat thereof recorded in Volume
"E" of Plats, page 36, Records of Yak1mu County,
Washington and the centerline of West Washington Avenue;
thence west along the centerline of West Washington Avenue
to the centerline of South l2th Avenue; thence north along
the centerline of South .12th Avenue to the north right of
way line extended west of 3t, Johns Street; thence east
along the extended north line and north line of St. Johns
Street, to the Eat line of the West 140 feet of Lot 11,
Plat of Section 36, Township 18 North, Range 19 E.W.M.;
thence northerly along last said East line to the South
line of Lot 6, Block 2, King Street Addition; according to
the plat thereof recorded in Volume uLo of plats, page 43,
records of Yakima County, Washington, thence easterly
along the south line of said Lot 6, Block 2 of King Street
Addition, to the southeast corner of said Lot 6; thence

2 of King Street Addition to the southeast corner of Lot 9

west along the centerline of West Mead Avenue and the

E.W.M. to the extended east boundary line of Lot 1 of Mead
Addition according to plat thereof recorded in Volume "K"
of plats, page 34, records of Yakima County, Washington;

east boundary line of Lot 1 of said Mead Addition, to the
southeast corner of said Lot 1; thence east 30 feet to the
east line of Section 35, Township 13 North, Range 18,
E.W.M.; thence south along said east line to the point of
intersection of the North line, extended East, of Lot 17
of said Mead Addition with the East line of said Section
35; thence westerly along said extended north line and the
north line of Lots 15, 16 17 of said plat of Mead Addition .
a distance of 330 feet; thence north parallel to the east
line of said Section 35 to the south line of Lot 2, Mead
Addition; thence westerly along the south lines and south
lines extended of Lots 2, 3, 4, 5 and 7 of said Mead
Addition, to the centerline of South 18th Avenue; thence
south along the centerline of. South 18th Avenue to the
centerline of Loren Avenue; thence west along the
centerline of Loren Avenue to the west line, extended
South, of Lot 44, First Addition to Suburban Acre Homes
according to the plat thereof as recorded in Volume "B" of
plats, page 72, records of Yakima County, Washington,
thence north along the extended west line and west line of
said Lot 44 to the north line of Section 35, Township 13
North, Range 18, E.W.M.; thence west along said north line
to the northeast corner of the northwest quarter of the
northeast quarter of Section 35, Township 13 North, Range
18, E.W.M.; thence south along the east line of the
northwest quarter of the northeast quarter of said Section
35 to the westerly extended north line of Lot 51 of said
First Addition to Suburban Acre Homes; thence east along
the north line of Lots 51, 52, 53, 54, and 55 of said
First Addition to Suburban Acre Homes to the east right of
way line of South 18th Avenue; thence north, along the
east right of way line of South 18th Avenue, to the
centerline of King Street; thence east along the
centerline of King Street, to the east right of way line
of South 16th Avenue; thence south, along the east right
of way of South 16th Avenue, to the extended south
boundary line of said Mead Addition; thence west, along
the extended south boundary line of said Mead Addition, to
the centerline of South 16th Avenue; thence south, along
the centerline of South 16th Avenue, to the intersection
of the North line, extended west, of Lot 9 of said Plat of
Section 36, Township 13 North, Range 18 E.W.M.; thence
East along the extended North line and North line of said
Lot 9 and the north line of Lot 10 of said plat of Section
36, Township 13 North, Range 18, E.W.M., to the west line
of the East 140.6 feet of said Lot 10; thence south along
last said west line to the south line of said Lot 10;
thence west, along the south line of said Lot 10, to the
Southwest corner of said Lot 10; thence south, along the
east line of Airport Addition No. 2, according to the plat
thereof recorded in Volume "T" of plats, page 13, records
of Yakima County, Washington, to the south line of said
Airport Addition No. 2; thence west, along the south line
of said Airport Addition No. 2, to the centerline of South
16th Avenue; thence south along the centerline of South
16th Avenue to the south line extended west of Lot 24,
plat of Section 36, Township 13 North, Range 18, E.W.M.;
thence east along the extended south line and south line
of said Lot 24 to the east right of way line of South 15th
Avenue, thence south along said east right of way line to
the centerline of West Washington Avenue; thence west
along the centerline of West Washington Avenue to a point
180 feet east of the Centerline of South 16th Avenue;
thence south and parallel with South 16th Avenue to the
north line of_ Lot 40, plat of Section 36, Township 13
North, Range 18, E.W.M.; thence east along the north lines
of Lots 40, 39 and 38 of said plat of Section 36 to the
northeast corner of said Lot 38; thence north 30 feet to
the point of beginning.

N., Range 18 E.W.M.; beginning at a point in the
centerline of Grant Street,, 60 feet east of the west line
extended of Lot 9, Block 2, "Stones Addition" to North •
Yakima (now Yakima), as recorded in Volume "C" of plats,
page 33, records of Yakima County, Washington; thence
northerly parallel with the west line of lot 9 to the
north line of Lot 9; thence easterly along the north line
• of Lots 9 and 10 and Lot 10 extended to the centerline of
South 18th Avenue; thence northerly along said centerline •
to the centerline of West Prasch Avenue; thence easterly
along the centerline. of West Prasch Avenue to the east
line extended of Lot 4, Block 1 of said "Stones Addition ";
thence southerly along the east line extended ,and east
line of Lots 4 and 7 and Lot 7 extended to the centerline
of Grant Street; thence westerly along said centerline to

the Point of Beginning.
Section 2. The owners of the hereinbefore described real property
annexed to. the City of Yakima shall be required to assume existing
indebtednesses of the City of Yakima.
Section 3. The hereinbefore described real property annexed to the
City of Yakima is hereby zoned as it is currently zoned and depicted on
- the official zoning map for the unincorporated portion of the Yakima
Urban Area which map is maintained in the Yakima County Planning
Department and which map is incorporated herein by reference.
Section 4. The next regularly amended Zoning District Map prepared
by and for the City of Yakima shall show said property as hereinbefore
zoned and classified.
Section 5. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to
file a certified copy of this ordinance with the County Auditor of
Yakima County and with the Board of County Commissioners of Yakima
County, Washington.
Section 6. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect thirty'
days after its passage, approval and publication as provided by law and
by the City Charter.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, signed and approved this day of
October 1988.
