ORDINANCE NO. B-2139
AN ORDINANCE providing for the expenditure of funds in the Tahoma Ceme-
tery Department not provided for in the 1957 Budget, and
declaring an emergency.
WHEREAS, a shortage of funds exists in the following items
within the 1957 appropriation of the Tahoma Cemetery Department, to-wit,
Retirement Fund, Business Tax, Utilities, Ground Equipment Maintenaace,
Motor Vehicle Maintenance, and Material, and
WHEREAS, at the time of the adoption of said 1957 Budget it
could not be reasonably foreseen that the amounts budgeted for the afore-
mentioned items would be insufficient to cover all the necessary expendi-
tures thereunder; and
WHEREAS, an emergency exists requiring the additional expen-
diture of funds within the aforementioned items; and
WHEREAS, the action contemplated herein is authorized by
R.C.W. 35.33.090,
NOW, THE'iEFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
Section 1. That an emergency exists requiring an additional
expenditure of $3,409.11 within certain items within the Maintenance and
Operation classification of the 1957 Budget of the Tahoma Cemetery Depar-
tment, and that it could not be reasonably foreseen that the amounts bud-
geted for the items mentioned hereinbelow would be insufficient to cover
all the necessary expenditures thereunder.
Section 2, That there is hereby appropriated the additional
sum of $3,409.11 within the Maintenance and Operation classification of
the Tahoma Cemetery Department, said appropriation being distributed to
the following items and in the following amounts within said classifica-
II tion: Retirement Fund, $1851.08; Business Tax, $350.27; Utilities, $229.03;
Ground Equipment Maintenanceā$146.72; Motor Vehicle Maintenance, $437.26;
Material, $394,75.
Section 3. That the City Treasurer is hereby authorized,
empowered and directed to issue emergency wattants upon the items in the
Maintenance and Operation classification of the Tahoma Cemetery Department
appropriation for 1957 in the amounts and within the itmes indicated imme-
diately hereinabove.
Section 4. This ordinance is one providing for the expendi-
ture of funds not budgeted and an emergency is hereby declared to exist
and this ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage,
approval, and publication as provided by law and the City Charter.
