HomeMy WebLinkAbout1959-B-2254 166 ORDINANCE NO. B-2254 '71 AN ORDINANCE providing for an assistant City Attorney on a part-time basis, providing a salary therefore and declaring an emergency. WHEREAS, it has become apparent that the work load in the Legal Department has increased to the point where the services of an assistant City Attorney on a part-time basis is required, and WHEREAS, it could not have been readonably foreseen at the time of the adoption of the 1959 Budget that such services would be re- quired, and WHEREAS, an emergency of the type contemplated by R.C.W. 35.33.090 exists, now therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA: Section 1. That there is hereby created the position of Assistant City Attorney for the City of Yakima, the same to be upon a part-time basis at an annual salary not in excess of $4,200.00 Section 2. That the sum of $4,200.00 is hereby appropria- ted to the Assistant City Attorney (part-time) item of the salary clas- sification of the 1959 Budget for the Legal Department. Section 3. That an emergency exists of the type contem- plated by R.C.W. 35.33.090, which could not have been foreseen at the time of the adoption of the 1959 Budget. Section 4. This ordinance is one to provide for the ex- penditure of funds not budgeted and an emergency is declared to exist and this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon its passage, approval and publication, as provided by law and the City Charter, PASSED BY THE CITY COMMISSION, signed and approved this 25th day of February, 1959.
