ORDINANCE NO.. B 2197
AN ORDINANCE providing f�r a full time legal stenographer, provid-
ing a salary therefore and declaring an emergency.
WHEREAS, the 1958 budget of the Legal Department provided
for a stenographer on a part time basis and,
WHEREAS, it is apparent that the Legal Department
11 requires the services of a full time stenographer and,
WHEREAS, it could not have been reasonably forseen at
the time of the adoption of the 1958 budget of the Legal Department
that it would become necessary to obtain the services of a full time
stenographer and,
WHEREAS, the City Commission finds that the services of
a full time legal stenographer are required and necessary in the
public interests; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
Section 1. That an emergency exists requiring the
employment of a full time legal stenographer and that it could not
have been reasonably forseen at the time of the adoption of the 1958
budget that such full time employment would be required.
Section 2. That the annual salary of the full time
legal stenographer to be employed is hereby set at $3,600 per year.
Section 3. That the employment of such legal stenog-
rapher is hereby authorized.
Section 4. That the sum of $1,300.00 is hereby
appropriated for the salary of such legal stenographer.
Section 5. That this ordinance is one providing for an
expenditure of funds not budgeted and that an emergency is hereby
declared to exist and this ordinance shall beim full force and
effect immediately upon its passage, approvalri and publication, as
provided by law and the city charter.
Passed by the unanimous vote of the City Commission
of the City of Yakima, Washington, at a regular meeting thereof and
approvedby the Mayor thereof this 3rd. day of Sept., 1958.
