AN ORDINANCE requiring permits issued by the Fire Marshal for the install
ation, maintenance or use of gas appliances and piping; pro-
viding for the inspection thereof; prescribing penalties for
the violation thereof, and amending Ordinance No. B-1846.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YhKIMA:
Section 1. Section 2 of Ordinance No. F-1846 is hereby amend-
ed toread as follows:
"Section 2. No permit to install, maintain or use any gas
appliances shall be issued except upon written application
to the 'lire Marshal. Said written application shall in-
clude as a part thereof any and all electrical features
pertaining to the installation of gas appliances. Upon ap-
plication being made, an inspection shall forthwith be made
of the premises or work to be covered thereby to determined
if there has been compliance with this ordinance. Such in-
spection shall be made by the Fire Marshal or such other
Personnel of the Fire Department as are designated as heat-
ing inspectors and said Fire Department personnel are here-
empowered to perform the duties of the electrical inspector
with respect to said gas appliances. Before commencing any
business required to operate under any permit or certificate
notice in writing shall be given to the Fire Marshal who
shall, within 48 hours after the receipt thereof, inspect
the premises or work covered by such permit and give his
written approval or disapproval of such premises or work."
Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force
thirty days from and after its passage, approval and publication.
