ORDINANCE NO. B- 2161 "
Improvement Fund
AN ORDINANCE providing for the expenditure of funds in the Airport /not
provided for in the 1958 Budget and declaring an emergency.
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. B -2101, passed and approved by the
City Commission December 4, 1957, autha ibR,g4 be issuance of general Obli-
gation bonds in the sum of $35,000.00 /oF'wFiicF was, earmarked for the purpose
of acquiring the necessary easements and rights of way for the installa-
tion of an approach lighting system at the Yakima Municaal Airport, said
costs and expenses to include, in addition to the actual costs of the land
or easements thereto, all administrative, engineering and legal costs in
connection therewith; and

WHEREAS, said general obligation bonds have been sold to the
State of Washington acting through the State Finance 'or riiittee, and
WHEREAS, funds are now required for acquiring right of way
easements for said approach lighting system, and other costs incident
thereto are to be incurred, as more specifically set forth in Ordinance
B -2101, and
WHEREAS, an emergency exists requiring the expenditure of funds
for the aforementioned purposes, and
WHEREAS, the action contemplated herein is authorized by
R.C. W. 35.33.090,
NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
Section 1. That an emergency exists requiring the expenditure of
at least 30,000.00 for the purpose of acquiring the necessary easements and
rights of way for the installation of an approach lighting system at the Yak-
ima Municipal Airport and other costs incident thereto, and that said
emergency has arisen by reason of the fact that the project for the
installation of said approach lights was not fully and wholly formu-
lated until after passage of the 1958 Budget. II
Section 2. That there is hereby appropriated the sum
of 30,000.00 for the purpose of acquiring the necessary easements and
rights of way for the installation of an approach lighting system at
the Yakima Municipal Airport, said costs and expenses to include, in
addition to the actual costs of the land or easene nts thereto, all
administrative, engineering and legal costs in connection therewith,
said appropriation to be designated as the "Approach Lighting System"
item within the "Capital Outlay" classification of the 1958 Airport
Improvement Fund.
Section 3. This ordinance is one to provide for the
expenditure of funds not budgeted an an emergency is declared to ex-
ist and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately
upon its passage, approval and publication as provided by law and the
City Charter.
PASSED BY THE CITY COMMISSION, signed and approved this
14th day of May, 1958.
