HomeMy WebLinkAbout1997-017 Minors prohibited from adult entertainment establishment .. , II ORDINANCE NO. 97- 17 AN ORDINANCE relating to licenses and business regulations prohibiting minors under the age of 18 to be on the premises of an adult entertainment establishment, providing a penalty therefore, and enacting a new section, Section 5.30.045 of the City of Yakima Municipal Code. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA: Section 1. Section 5.30.045 is hereby enacted as a new . section in the Yakima Municipal Code to read as follows: "5.30.045 Allowing Minor in Adult Entertainment Establishment. It is unlawful for the licensee or manager of an adult entertainment establishment to knowingly allow a person under the age of 18 years to be on the premises of an adult entertainment establishment." Section 2. This Ordinance adopts a prohibition contained in state statute. While at present there are no adult entertainment establishments operating in the City of Yakima, the Yakima City Council has seen fit to adopt regulations concerning the operation of such 411 establishments. This proposed Ordinance augments those previously adopted regulations. By adopting this Ordinance, the City is allowed to proceed on any violation in Municipal Court rather than having to refer the matter to the County Prosecutor's Office for prosecution in the District Court.
