SUBMITTED BY: Jerry D. Copeland, Director of Public Works Nancy Gaudette, Refuse Manager CONTACT PERSON /TELEPHONE: Nancy Gaudette / 575 -6421 SUMMARY EXPLANATION: The passing of Mel Hollis, Refuse Supervisor, resulted in a significant benefit cash - out expense in 1996, and also required the use of more temporary help than had originally been planned in the Refuse Fund. This, coupled with unanticipated poor weather conditions are going to result in the need for a $25,000 appropriation in the 1996 Refuse and Recycling Budget ,to complete year -end operations. Refuse staff believed until only recently that other savings might make this ordinance unnecessary, but "mother nature" intervened. . • Resolution _Ordinance XX Contract _ Other (Specify) Funding Source APPROVED FOR SUBMITTAL: 'City Manager STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Read ordinance by title only at the December 17, 1996 meeting; approve ordinance following second reading.
