HomeMy WebLinkAbout1997-024 Irrigation maintenance assessment roll ORDINANCE NO. 97- 24 AN ORDINANCE confirming the irrigation maintenance assessment roll of the City of Yakima for the calendar year 1997 and levying irrigation maintenance assessments according to said roll. • WHEREAS, the Irrigation Division of the City of Yakima has heretofore duly prepared and filed with the Yakima City Clerk a proposed irrigation maintenance assessment roll for the calendar year 1997, all pursuant to and in accordance with applicable laws, and, WHEREAS, pursuant to due notice, Yakima City Council held a public hearing on April 15, 1997, on the confirmation of said proposed assessment roll, now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF YAKIMA: Section 1 - The irrigation maintenance assessment roll of the City of Yakima for the calendar year 1997 as heretofore filed with the Yakima City Clerk and the assessments contained therein, are hereby approved and confirmed: and the lots, tracts, and parcel of land of the irrigation systems described in said assessment roll are hereby assessed and charged at the rates, and in the amounts set forth therein. • Section 2. The City hereby Clerk is hereb directed to deliver forthwith to the Director of Finance and Budget a certified copy of assessment roll, and the Director of Budget and Finance shall thereupon publish notice and mail statements of said assessments being due, all as required by law. Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect thirty days after it's passage, approval, and publication as provided by the law and the City Charter. The 1997 Irrigation Maintenance Assessment Roll was submitted to Council members on March 13, 1997. The 1997 Irrigation Maintenance Assessment Roll is confirmed by ordinance. COUNCIL ACTION: • Changes in the square footage area subject to Assessment are as follows: General (308) was decreased by 106,008 sq. ft., primarily due to the re- construction of the 1-82 Interchange, and North 4 Street (689) was decreased by 5,303, all in accordance with Section 7.64.035 of the Yakima Municipal Codes, "Exclusion From the , 0 Assessment Roll ". Changes in area are only made to correct calculation errors, or for the elimination of property from the assessment roll as per City of Yakima Codes. The basic financial determinations for the proposed 1997 assessment rates are shown in the "Report on 1997 Irrigation Assessment Rate ". • In summary, thirty (30) systems (including any subsystems) are recommended for increases. • Rate reductions are recommended for nine (9) systems (including any subsystems). • Two (2) systems will see no change.
