SUBMITTED BY: William Cook, Director of Community and Economic Development CONTACT PERSON /TELEPHONE: Joan Davenport, Supervising Planner (575 -6164) SUMMARY EXPLANATION: In keeping with the City Council policy since 1990, amendments to the Land Development Ordinance are hereby presented reflecting a proposed increase in fees based upon the Seattle- Tacoma Area Consumer Price Index (CPIU) one -year increase of 2.7% (1997- 1998), as reported by the U. S. Bureau of Labor. A fee report and recommendation study which described several alternatives for establishing a multi -year increase schedule was submitted during the 1999 Budget sessions. Council did not adopt the findings of the study. The attached 1999 Fee Schedule Review shows the current City fee (as adopted in 1998); the proposed 1999 fee; and the corresponding 1999 Yakima County fee. For applications which require a public hearing the 1999 proposed fee also includes a $30 increase to cover the actual cost of providing the 4 -foot by 4 -foot poster for public notice. A new fee is proposed for Comprehensive Plan amendments. Resolution_Ordinance X Contract.
