AN ORDINANCE relating to public safety and moral; creating
partial exemptions for dog license fees and
amending Section 6.22.050 of the City of
Yakima Municipal Code.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
Section 1. Section 6.22.050 of the City of Yakima
Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
"6.22.050 License Fees. A. For the year from
February 1, 1981, through January 31, 1982, and for each
year thereafter, the annual license fees for owning, keeping
or having control of dogs, and dogs and cat kennels, in the
City of Yakima shall be as follows:
Each dog, male or female $10.00
Dog kennel $27.50
Cat kennel - six or more cats $11.00
Provided, that in the case of dog or kennels previously
licensed, there shall be an additional fee of fifteen
dollars for each dog or kennel license which is purchased
more than sixty days after the first day of February of any
year starting with 1981.
B. The annual license fee for a dog shall be reduced
by twenty -five percent, provided, that at the time of
payment of the fee listed in Subsection A, the owner of such
dog shows to the Director of the Department of Finance and
Budget or his designee, written proof from a licensed
veterinarian or a written statement from the Humane Society
of Central Washington (SPCA) that such dog has been
sterilized."
Section 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect thirty days after its passage, approval and
publication as provided by law and by the City Charter.
