The attached ordinance creates collection service rates for the automated residential refuse service (32 and 96 gallon carts). Upon Council passage of the ordinance, the changes will become effective August 2001 within Yakima's residential refuse service area. Additionally, a rate has been established for each additional yard service cart beyond the one 96- gallon cart for residential customers electing to participate in the yard service program. This will encourage the use of yard service collection over regular refuse service as a more appropriate direction for recyclable yard service materials.
