Dear Chris:
Last week I visited with you regarding some signs to be placed on Fair Avenue and I would like to
make this a formal request.
The Central Washington State Fair Association would like to request the City consider placing some
parking signs -along Fair Avenue that state there is no parking from 2:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m., and
preferably we would like it to be from the Nob Hill intersection to the intersection of Fair Avenue and
Pacific Avenue.
Our reasons for this request are, number one, we seem to have a neighbor located across from Gate
5, that has a continuing habit of parking cars on the street for several days at a time. They are
apparently aware of the 14 -day limitation and simply go out and move the cars forward or backward
so- that'th:e. cars do not°get- towed.- If check your records you will find we, along with Terry Morton,
have made numerous calls to have these cars removed.
We understand that these requests are properly handled by the Police Department, but we sense
their frustration in it, their hands are somewhat tied as to being able to legally tow these cars.
Our second reason we would like to put this limitation in, is that we appreciate the City's efforts to
keep our streets and curbs clean and we can't help but notice that often times the street sweeper has
to go out into the main street leaving a trail of dirt and debris that outline the parked cars. With these
cars removed it would certainly allow the City the ability to keep our streets cleaned in front of the
Fairgrounds.
We would ask that the proper department staff are presented this request and that we could receive a
favorable response. Should you have any questions Chris, would be more than happy to respond to
them.
Sincerely,
CENTRAL W S INGTON STATE FAIR
