SUMMARY EXPLANATION
On December 2, 2003 the Fire Investigator's vehicle was damaged beyond cost effective
repair in an accident.
The recommended replacement vehicle is a pick -up with a securable cover over the bed
and is priced through state bid at approximately $30,000 delivered and placed in- service.
This vehicle would be capable of safely carrying the investigator's generator, fuel,
evidence containers and related equipment.
The attached appropriation ordinance would authorize the use of $30,000 from the Fire
Capital Fund reserves to purchase a replacement vehicle for fire mvestigations.
