HomeMy WebLinkAbout2005-060 Appropriation - Cemetery Fund / Retirement Cash Out ORDINANCE NO. 2005 - 60 AN ORDINANCE amending the 2005 budget for the City of Yakima, and making an appropriation of $26,526 in the 144 - Cemetery Fund for expenditure during 2005 to provide for an unanticipated retirement cash out. WHEREAS, the amount of $26,526 must be appropriated within the 144 - Cemetery Fund for expenditure during 2005 to provide for an unanticipated retirement cash out; and WHEREAS, at the time of the adoption of the 2005 budget it could not reasonably have been foreseen that the appropriation provided for by this ordinance would be required, and the City Council declares that an emergency exists of the type contemplated by RCW 35.33 091 and that it is in the best interests of the City to make the appropriation herein provided, now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA: Section 1. The amount of $26,526 is hereby appropriated from the Unappropriated Fund Balance in the 144 - Cemetery Fund to account number 144 -144- 225 - 0000 - 53620 -140 titled Retirement /Cash out as a 2005 appropriation. Section 2. Often management staff can estimate and budget for the associated cash -out of accumulated vacation and sick leave accruals. In this instance, the retirement was unanticipated. The attached appropriation ordinance authorizes an increase in the Cemetery budget of $26,526, which is being funded from reserves. Resolution X Ordinance _Contract Other (Specify) FUNDING SOURCE.
