Council Members present: Maureen Adkison, David Edler, Bill Lover Staff Dick Zais, Michael Morales, Vaughn McBride Guests Rick Austin, Yakima Valley Sports Commission, Dave Pischer & Bev Clark, Landau Associates Hotshots request for three -year licensing agreement for 3 -on -3 basketball tournament Rick Austin and Vaughn McBride explained a request to transition the popular tournament from an annual street closure permit to a three -year license agreement. The Committee moved to recommend approval to the full Council Mr Austin said he has made arrangements to talk to CDY about the change and he expects their approval also Mill District Update — report from Landau Associates re geotechnical and alignment study Michael Morales reported that Yakima County approved the City's $500,000 SIED loan request for engineering design of roads and utilities to serve the redevelopment of the mill district. The selection process for the design engineer will occur over the next few months In the mean time, a piece of information that will benefit the design engineer is a study that was recently completed by Landau Associates to determine the geotechnical issues for the � frastructure of the first phase of development A separate study (conducted by SLR) will determine the full integration of the landfill in the development, but Landau considered the landfill site and other factors when trying to determine the best layout for roads and utilities within the site Mr Pischer distributed a report that contained 15 -16 separate issues and briefly reviewed several of them He stated that Landau's conclusion was that the design team can accomplish any alignment from an engineering and technical point of view He noted that integration of the landfill control measures and the economics of the various measures will be important considerations Morales explained that the Landau and SLR studies will be folded into the total infrastructure design and that the DOT / YVCOG traffic analysis will also come into play The Committee will be kept up to date as information becomes available ', r 6 ---' , ,,,, ,,,,,,....„,,, Maureen Adkisori, Chair Date el
