ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE annexing property to the City of Yakima and
zoning said property.
WHEREAS., proceedings have been held in accordance with
all applicable laws for the annexation to the City of Yakima
of the property hereinafter described, and
WHEREAS, a hearing was duly held on such annexation by
the Yakima County Boundary Review Board as required by law and
as a result of such hearing the boundary Review Board has
approved the annexation provided for by this ordinance, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to due and legal notice, the City
Council held a public hearing on said annexation on the 22nd
day of August, 1989; and, as a result thereof, finds that such
property should be annexed to the City of Yakima and further
finds that the property should retain its current zoning
pursuant to the Yakima Urban Area Zoning Map and that such
zoning and classification is in accord with the Yakima Urban
Area Comprehensive Plan, the General Plan of the City of
Yakima, that not less than seventy -five percent of the proper-
ty owners within the area described below have petitioned the
City Council for annexation, that the needs of the City and
community do require the hereinafter set forth zoning classi-
fication, and that the highest and best use for said property
is as hereinafter determined, now, therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
Section 1. The following described property is hereby
annexed to the City of Yakima, Washington:
All that part of Section 26, 27, 34, and 35, Township 13
North, Range 18 E.W.M., lying within Yakima County,
Washington described as follows:
Beginning at the southwest corner of the northeast quar-
ter of the northeast quarter of Section 34, Township 13
North, Range 18 E.W.M.; thence east along the south line
thereof to the east line of said Section 34; thence
south, along the east line of said Section 34, to the
northerly right -of -way line of relocated Washington
Avenue; thence southeasterly along said right -of -way line
to the west line of the east half of the southwest quar-
ter of the northwest quarter of Section 35, Township 13
North, Range 18, E.W.M.; thence north, along the west
line of the east half of the southwest quarter of the
northwest quarter of said Section 35, to a point 931 feet
north of, when measured at right angles to, the south
line of the northwest quarter of said Section 35; thence
east, parallel with the north line of the southwest
quarter of the northwest quarter of said Section 35,
666.4 feet; thence north, along the west line of the
southeast quarter of the northwest quarter of said Sec-
tion 35, to the northwest corner of the southeast quarter
of the northwest quarter of said Section 35; thence east,
along the north line of the southeast quarter of the
northwest quarter of said Section 35, to the southeast
corner of the west half of the west half of the northeast

quarter of the northwest quarter of said Section 35;
thence north along the east line of said west half of the
west half of the northeast quarter of the northwest
quarter of said Section 35 to a point 573.5 feet south of
the north line of said subdivision; thence east 389.5
feet more or less to the easterly or northerly right -of-
way line of a lateral from the Naches and Cowiche Ditch;
thence southeasterly along the northerly right -of -way of
said lateral 612.5 feet more or less to the centerline of
South 24th Avenue; thence north along said centerline of
South 24th Avenue to the north line extended of Lot 18,
Block 2, Sutor Addition Number 2, as recorded in Volume
"N" of Plats, page 21, records of Yakima County, Washing-
ton; thence east along the north line and north line
extended of Lots 18 and 3 of said Sutor Addition Number
2, to the centerline of South 23rd Avenue; thence north
along the centerline of South 23rd Avenue to the south
line of the northwest quarter of the southwest quarter of
the southeast quarter of Section 26, Township 13 North,
Range 28 E.W.M.; thence east along last said south line
to the centerline of South 22nd Avenue; thence north
along the centerline of South 22nd Avenue to the
centerline of West Viola Avenue; thence west along said
line to the northeast corner of the southeast quarter of
the southwest quarter of Section 26, Township 13 North,
Range 18, E.W.M., thence southerly along the east line of IMO
said subdivision to a point 16.5 feet southerly of the
northeast corner of the south half of the north half of
the southeast quarter of the southwest quarter of said
Section 26; thence westerly parallel with the north line
of said subdivision to a point lying 250 feet east of the
west line of the southeast quarter of the southwest
quarter of said Section 26; thence southerly parallel
with the west line of the southeast quarter of the south-
west quarter of said Section 26 to the south line of said
subdivision; thence southerly parallel with the west line
of the northeast quarter of the northwest quarter of
Section 35, Township 13 North, Range 18, E.W.M., 25 feet;
thence westerly parallel with the north line of said
subdivision to the east line of the northwest quarter of
the northwest quarter of Section 35, Township 13 North,
Range 18, E.W.M.; thence northerly along said east line
to the northeast corner of the northwest quarter of the
northwest quarter of said Section 35; thence westerly
along the north line of the northwest quarter of the
northwest quarter of said Section 35 to the northeast
corner of the west half of said subdivision; thence
southerly along the east line of said west half to a
point lying 115.5 feet north of the southeast corner of
said subdivision; thence northwesterly to a point lying
66 feet north of Wide Hollow Creek and 330 feet east of
the west line of said subdivision; thence south 60 feet
to Wide Hollow Creek; thence northwesterly along wide
Hollow Creek to the west line of said subdivision; thence
northerly along said west line to the southeast corner of
Section 27, Township 13 North, Range 18, E.W.M., thence
south 89 59' west along the south line of said Section 27
to the northwest corner of the northeast quarter of the
northeast quarter of Section 34, Township 13 North, Range
18 E.W.M.; thence south along the west line of last said
subdivision to the point of beginning.
Section 2. The owners of the hereinbefore described real
property annexed to the City of Yakima shall be required to
assume existing indebtedness of the City of Yakima.
Section 3. The hereinbefore described real property
annexed to the City of Yakima is hereby zoned as it is cur-

rently zoned and depicted on the official zoning map for the
unincorporated portion of the Yakima Urban Area which map is
• maintained in the Yakima County Planning Department and which
map is incorporated herein by reference.
Section 4. The next regularly amended Zoning District
Map prepared by and for the City of Yakima shall show said
property as hereinbefore zoned and classified.
Section 5. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and
directed to file a certified copy of this ordinance with the
County Auditor of Yakima County and with the Board of County
Commissioners of Yakima County, Washington.
Section 6. This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect thirty days after its passage, approval and publication
as provided by law and by the City Charter.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, signed and approved this
22nd day of August, 1989.
