HomeMy WebLinkAbout1993-045 Vacancies to the Police Pension Board ORDINANCE NO 93- 45 AN ORDINANCE relating to City administration, clarifying how vacancies to the Police Department Pension Board are filled, amending Section 1 57 010 and adding Section 1 57 015 all of the City of Yakima Municipal Code. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA: Section 1 Section 1 57 010 of the City of Yakima Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows. "1.57 010 Vacancies -- How filled. Whene■ er . . . . - - : an individual holding one of the Police Representative positions to the Police Pension Board of the Cite of Yakima, - - - - -- - - - - - - - . -- - - - - - thereto, such vacancy is unable or unwilling CO complete his or her term of office. the vacancy so created shall be filled for the remainder of the unexpired portion of the term thereof by the remaining members Police Board, as such new member of the Police Pension Board in the following manner. (A) Persons eligible to he elected to the vacant position shall be an one not currently on the Police Pension Board and who is either (1) A current Cit\ of Yakima police officer: (2) A retired City of Yakima police officer: or (3) A clerical worker co\ ered under RC\V Chapter 41.20. Lill A majority \ ote of the entire membership of the Pension Board, at an) regular meeting, providing a quorum is present, will be sufficient to elect such person a member thereof " Section 2 Section 1 57 015 of the City. of Yakima Municipal Code is hereby enacted as a new section to read as follow s.
