HomeMy WebLinkAbout1993-047 Defendant in Custody ORDINANCE NO. 93- 47 AN ORDINANCE relating to city administration, correcting the amount of money to be credited to a defendant in custody, such money to be used to reduce any unpaid fines; and amending 1 66.010 of the City of Yakima Municipal Codes BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA: Section 1 Section 1 66 010 of the City of Yakima Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows. "1.66.010 Satisfaction of judgment -- Payment of fine. (a) In all cases of conviction in the Yakima District Court for the violation of any City ordinance, the judge shall enter judgment for the fine and costs imposed against the defendant and may commit him to jail until the amount of such fine and costs cm ing are paid. The amount of such fine and costs cm ing shall be the total of the fine and costs imposed as reduced b) an portion thereof paid an time after judgment is entered. (b) Upon any such commitment to jail, the defendant may be • ordered to be placed at hard labor In such an event, the defendant shall receive credit, toward the amount of such fine and costs owing, of seventy five dollars for each day he performs such labor, otherwise, he shall receive credit, toward such fine and costs owing, of fifty dollars for each day of imprisonment."
