HomeMy WebLinkAbout1993-063 Public Holidays • ORDINANCE NO. 93- 63 AN ORDINANCE: relating to traffic; amending "public holidays" to substitute Martin Luther King's Birthday for Lincoln's Birthday; and amending Section 9 10.060 of the City of Yakima Municipal Code. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA: Section 1 Section 9 10.060 of the City of Yakima Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows: "9.10.060 Public holiday. 'Public holiday' means the first day of January (New Year's Day), third Monday of January (Martin Luther King's Birthday), third Monday of February (Presidents' Day), last Monday of May (Memorial Day), fourth day of July (Independence Day), first Monday of September (Labor Day), eleventh day of November (Veteran's Day), fourth Thursday of November (Thanksgiving Day), the day immediately following Thanksgiving Day, and the twenty -fifth day of December (Christmas) " Section 2 This ordinance shall be in full force and effect 30 days after its passage, approval, and publication as provided by law and by the City Charter PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, signed and approved this]. 0th day of August , 1993 6;1 ,x Art. .li' ATTEST Mayor City Clerk Publication Date: August 13, 1993 Effective Date: September 13, 1993 • (ls)ord /pblc holidays jw
