ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING, THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 13, 1975
City Council met in session on this date at 4:00 P.M. in the Con-
'
ference Room at Yakima City Hall.
!Councilmen present at the meeting were Mayor Bert Broad, Wray Brown,
Betty L. Edmondson, Dick Jarms, W. K. "Pete" Moore, Don Schussler
and Dr. Bill Simmons.
i Director of Parks and Recreation Bill Hutsinpiller reviewed the pre-'
1 liminary 1976 budget for his department. Expenditures are up some !
16 percent over 1975, reflecting salary adjustments of 10 percent,
i and $17,900 in Federal CETA funding which supports two Laborer I
positions and the Parks & Recreation Supervisor for the first six
months of 1976. The Director noted that the Yakima Softball Associ
ation has been assessed new fees for thefacility use and staff
assistance in 1576. Swimming pool and golf fees have been increased
for the City and County residents. Additional revenues from these
' increases is $22,475 in 1976. Councilmen were interested in what
efforts have been undertaken by the department in working out shared
: facilities i.e., used by the city and school district. The Director
indicated that this area had not been currently delineated and
that a proposal would be developed in the future.
! Council also reviewed the Parks Capital Improvement Program and
considered,a recommendation of capital projects for 1976 from the
' Parks and Recreation Commission. The total 1976 capital expenditure
! is estimated at $348,370.
General discussion continued. No formal action was taken at this
meeting.
There being no further business to come before the Council, it
was MOVED by Simmons, seconded by Jarms that we do now adjourn
at the hour of 5:00 P.M.: carried, Broad, Brown, Edmondson, Jarms,
Moore, Schussler and Simmons voting aye by voice vote.
