HomeMy WebLinkAbout1981-2492 ANIMAL & KENNEL LICENSE FEES • ORDINANCE NO. 22 AN ORDINANCE relating to public safety and morals; specifying animal and kennel license fees; amending Section 6.22.050 of the City of Yakima Municipal Code; and declaring an emergency. WHEREAS, the City Council hereby finds and declares an emer- gency to exist so as to require this ordinance to become immediately effective for the reason that the animal licensing year commences on February 1, 1981, and the lapse of thirty days until this ordi- nance would otherwise be effective would not accommodate the col- lection of the increased fee provided by this ordinance, proceeds from which are budgeted as revenue in the 1981 City Budget pre- ... viously adopted, now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA: Section 1. Section 6.22.050 of the City of Yakima Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows: "6.22.050 License fees. For the year from February 1, 1981, through January 31, 1982, and for each year there- after, the annual license fees for owning, keeping or having control of dogs, and dog and cat kennels, in the city of Yakima shall be as follows: Each dog, male or female $10.00 Dog kennel 27.50 Cat kennel--six or more cats 11.00 Provided, that in the case of dogs or kennels previously licensed, there shall be an additional fee of fifteen dollars for each dog or kennel license which is purchased more than sixty days after the first day of February of any year starting with 1981." Section 2. This ordinance is one to provide for the immediate preservation of the public peace, property, health, safety and wel- fare of the people of the City of Yakima and an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its passage, approval and publication as provided by law and by the City Charter.
