AN ORDINANCE relating to local government administration;
adopting a comprehensive plan for the City of
Yakima; and amending Sub Section 1.42.070 A of
the City of Yakima Municipal Code.
WHEREAS, formal public hearings were held, and other
studies were made, by the Urban Yakima Area Regional Planning
Commission and the Planning Commission of the City of Yakima
concerning the matter of the adoption of a comprehensive plan,
known as "The Yakima Urban Area Comprehensive Plan", for the
City of Yakima as well as for a larger Yakima urban area; and
as a result of such hearings and studies, the Urban Yakima
Area Regional Planning Commission and the Planning Commission '
of the City of Yakima duly recommended to the Yakima City
Council that the plan, consisting of a pamphlet entitled "The
Yakima Urban Area Comprehensive Plan (Draft 2; includes changes
recommended by the Regional Planning Commission September 23,
1980)", and a supplement thereto identified as "Urban Area Plan
Draft II Supplement as recommended by the Regional Planning
Commission 10-22-81" be adopted as the official comprehensive
plan for the City of Yakima, as well as for a larger Yakima
Urban Area encompassed by that plan, and
WHEREAS, on December 3, 1981, the City Council of the
410 City of Yakima held a joint public hearing with the Board of
Yakima County Commissioners and the Union Gap City Council on
the matter of adopting that general plan, and as a result of
that hearing the City Council finds that such plan should be
revised, according to revisions specified in the document

identified as Exhibit D referred to and adopted by this'
ordinance, and upon such revision being accomplished, that
such plan should be adopted as the official comprehensive plan
of the City of Yakima, as well as for the larger Yakima Urban
Area encompassed by that plan; and
WHEREAS, three or more copies of the plan, consisting of
the pamphlet, the supplement thereto and the revisions thereof,
have been and are now on file in the office of the Yakima City
Clerk, and
WHEREAS, the Yakima City Council further finds and
declares that the zoning code of the City of Yakima, con-

stituting Title 12 of the City of Yakima Municipal Code as
it exists at the time of the enactment of this ordinance,
and the subdivisions code of the City of Yakima, constituting

Title 14 of the City of Yakima Municipal Code as it exists
at the time of the enactment of this ordinance, are consistent
with and will implement the general plan adopted by this
ordinance, now, therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
Section 1. Sub Section 1.42.070 A of the City of Yakima
Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
"1.42.070 Comprehensive Plan. 110
A. Adopted. The pamphlet entitled "The Yakima
Urban Area Comprehensive Plan (Draft 2; includes changes
• recommended by the Regional Planning Commission September
23, 1980)", together with a supplement thereto identified
• as "Urban Area Plan Draft II Supplement as recommended
by the Regional Planning Commission 10-22-81", together
with revisions thereto specified in the document identi-
fied as "Exhibit D" of which not less than three copies
each have been and now are on file in the office of the
Yakima City Clerk, are hereby adopted as the official
comprehensive plan for the City of Yakima."
Section 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect thirty days after its passage, approval and publication
as provided by law and by the City Charter.
