HomeMy WebLinkAbout1979-2333 ANNEXING & ZONING PROPERTY TO THE CITY. ORDINANCE NO. 2333 110 AN ORDINANCE annexing property to the City of Yakima, and zoning said property. WHEREAS, proceedings have been held in accordance with all applicable laws for the annexation to the City of Yakima of the property hereinafter described, and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Yakima duly held a public hearing on the zoning of said property hereinafter described and annexed and, as a result of said hearing, duly recommended that said property be annexed to the City of Yakima and zoned as hereinafter specified, and WHEREAS, a hearing by the Yakima County Boundary Review Board 111 on such annexation was held as required by law and the annexation was approved as the legal description thereof is modified and set out hereinbelow, and WHEREAS, pursuant to due and legal notice, the City Council held a public hearing on said annexation on the 25th day of Septem- ber, 1979, and, as a result thereof, finds that such property should be annexed to the City of Yakima and further finds that the property should be zoned as hereinafter set forth for the reasons that such zoning and classification is in accord with good planning and with the General Plan of the City of Yakima, that the majority of the property owners in the vicinity do not oppose the classification or the annexation, that the needs of the City and community do require the hereinafter set forth zoning classi- fication, and that the highest and best use of said property is as hereinafter determined, now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA: Section 1. The following described property, situate in Yakima County, Washington, contiguous to the City of Yakima is 111 hereby annexed to the City of Yakima: Beginning at the southwest corner of the northeast quarter of Section 13, Township 13 North, Range 18, E.W.M.; thence easterly along the south line of said subdivision 30 feet; Al. thence northerly parallel with the west line of said subdivision 294 feet to the true point of beginning; thence continuing parallel with said west line to the south line extended of the northwest quarter of the southwest guar- ter of the northeast quarter of Section 13, Township 13 North, Range 18, E.W.M.; thence easterly along said south line and south line extended to the southeast corner of said subdivision; thence northerly along the east line of said subdivision to a line 150 feet more or less south of the north line of the southwest quarter of the northeast 11, quarter, (Said line being the south line of N.P. Lease No. 93086) extended west, thence east along said extended of N.P. lease South Line to West right-of-way line of Burlington Northern Railroad Spur Line; thence northeasterly along said spur line to a line southwesterly 50 feet per- pendicular to the main line of Burlington Northern Railroad; thence northwesterly parallel to and 50 feet southwesterly of said main line to its intersection with the north line of the northeast quarter of Section 13, Township 13 North, Range 18, E.W.M.; thence easterly along said subdivision line to its intersection with the existing Yakima City Limit Line; thence southeasterly along said existing City Limit Line to its intersection with the south line of said northeast quarter of Section 13, Township 13 North, Range 18, E.W.M.; thence westerly along said south line to a point 402 feet easterly of the southwest corner of said subdivision; thence northerly at right angles to said sub- division line 212.17 feet; thence northwesterly to a point which is 82 feet west when measured at right angles to the line above described, and 244 feet north of said subdivision line when measured at right angles; thence northerly parallel with the west line of said subdivision to the Union Pacific Railroad right-of-way; thence northwesterly along said right-of-way line to a point being 170 feet east, when measured at right angles, of the west line of said subdivision; thence southerly to a point being 170 feet east and 294 feet north of the Southwest corner of said subdivision; thence Westerly to the true point of beginning. Section 2. The owners of the hereinbefore described real property annexed to the City of Yakima shall be required to assume existing indebtednesses of the City of Yakima. Section 3. The hereinbefore described real, property annexed lop to the City of Yakima is hereby zoned as M-1, Light Industrial Zone. Section 4. The next regularly amended Use District Map prepared by and for the City of Yakima shall show said property as herein- before zoned and classified. Section 5. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to file a certified copy of this ordinance with the County Auditor of Yakima County and with the Board of County Commissioners of 411 Yakima County, Washington. Section 6.
