111 AN ORDINANCE relating to licenses and business regulations;
adopting a schedule of taxicab fare rates and regulat-
ing taxi meters; and amending Subsections 5.78.100 A
• and 5.78.110 (d) of the City of Yakima Municipal
Code.
11, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
Section 1. Subsection 5.78.100 A of the City of Yakima Muni-
cipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
"5.78.100 Taxicab rates and zones.
A. Taxicab rates. The following rate schedule
of taxicab rates is established and adopted as the
maximum rates that may be charged for taxi fare in the
City of Yakima, and it shall be unlawful for any person
driving or operating, or engaged in the business of
operating, any taxicab to charge any greater rate for
taxicab fare than that specified therein.
TAXICAB RATES
For one passenger for the first one-twelfth
mile or fraction thereof $1 00
Thereafter for each additional one-twelfth
'mile or fraction thereof 10
For each additional passenger . . ...... 30
(No charge shall be made for any children under
six years of age when accompanied by an adult.)
For each thirty seconds of waiting time after
the first three minutes • ....... . . . . .10"
Section 2. Subsection 5.78.110 (d) of the City of Yakima Muni-
cipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
111 "5.78.110 Taxi meters.
(d) Every taxi meter shall be installed at the
right side of the driver, and the reading face of each
taxi meter shall at all times be well-lighted and
readily discernible to passengers riding in the taxi-
cab."
Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
- thirty days after its passage, 'approval and publication as provided
by law and by the City Charter.
