II. RoII CaII Present: Molly Storrs, Nancy Kenmotsu, Leslie Wahl, Nancy Rayner Absent: Joe Mann, Karl Pasten, Whitney Stohr (all excused) Quorum: Quorum present Staff: Historic Preservation Liaison Joseph Calhoun III. Approval of January 25, 2017 Minutes The meeting minutes from January 25, 2017 were presented for discussion. A motion was made by Ms. Kenmotsu to approve as submitted, Ms. Rayner seconded. Motion carried. IV. New Business There were no items on the Agenda for New Business. V. Old Business A. 2016 Historic Preservation Awards Presentation Ms. Kenmotsu read the proclamation and presented the award for Research to Jo Miles for his extensive research on the Yakima Valley, and his most recent publication "Kamiakin Country." Ms. Storrs read the proclamation and presented the award for Person/Inspiration to John Baule for his many years of service and recent retirement as the Executive Director of the Yakima Valley Museum Mr. Eaton was not available to receive his award for Project related to his recent rehabilitation efforts on the Emporium/Lee Semon building. B. 2017 Work Program — Continued Discussion As only four commissioners were present, this item was tabled to the March 22, 2017 meeting. Fruit Row Update Mr. Calhoun provided an update on the Fruit Row Historic District. A stakeholder kickoff meeting is scheduled for March 8, 2017 at Hop Nation (5:30 pm). Efforts to raise the necessary funding to hire a consultant to write the nomination are still ongoing. VI. Other Business A. General Discussion of other items not on the agenda Ms. Kenmotsu provided some background on participation and meeting attendance in the past. Also, April 24-26, 2017 the Revitalize Washington conference will be held in Ellensburg, WA through the Main Street Program. VII. Citizen Participation None. VIII. Adjournment Ms. Wahl motioned to adjourn the meeting, Ms. Rayner seconded. The meeting adjourned at approximately 5:55 p.m. to the next scheduled meeting which will be held on Wednesday, March 22, 2016, at 5:30 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers.
