AN ORDINANCE providing for the vacation of portions of alley right-
of way and public streets in the City of Yakima,
Washington, and declaring an emergency.
410 WHEREAS, a petition has been filed with the City Council of
the City of Yakima requesting the vacation of the hereinafter des-
cribed portions of alley and public streets, and
WHEREAS, a hearing by the City Council was duly held on said
petition, and as a result of such hearing the City Council finds
it to be in the best interests of the City that said petition be
granted and that said portions of alley and public streets be
vacated, now, therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
Section 1. The following described portions of alley and
public streets in the City of Yakima, Washington, to wit:
All of the alley lying east of North 8th Street in Blocks
166, 165 and 164 of College Addition to North Yakima, W.T.
(now Yakima), recorded in Volume A of Plats, page 22, records
of Yakima County, Washington, except the north 50 feet of
the alley in Block 164 and the south 225 feet of the alley
in Block 166,
also those portions of "E" Street and "F" Street lying easterly
of the east right-of-way line of North 8th Street and westerly
1111 of the east right-of-way line of the alley in Blocks 166, 165
and 164, all in the plat of College Addition to North Yakima,
be, and the same are hereby, vacated.
Section 2. The City of Yakima hereby reserves all necessary
easements and rights-of-way for the installation and maintenance of
any and all water mains, sewers or utilities of any and all kinds
which may now exit in said rights-of-way or which it may hereafter
410 desire to construct thereon, and no buildings shall be constructed
on any portion of said vacated alley and street right-of-way with-
out the prior approval of the City.

Section 3. This ordinance is one to provide for the immediate
preservation of the public peace, property, health, safety and
welfare of the people of the City of Yakima and an emergency is
hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall be in full force
and effect immediately upon its passage, approval and publication
as provided by law and by the City Charter.
