AN ORDINANCE accepting the recommendation of the Planning Commission
and rezoning property in the Airport Clear Zone from
R-1, Single Family Zone, to M-3, Airport Industrial
Zone.
WHEREAS, pursuant to due and legal notice, the City Council of
the City of Yakima held a hearing on the 3rd day of January, 1978,
upon the recommendation of the Planning Commission that real property
situated in the Airport Clean Zone in the City of Yakima, Washington,
the legal description of which is set out hereinbelow, be rezoned
from R-1, Single Family Zone, to M-3, Airport Industrial Zone, and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that such recommendation of
the Planning Commission for such rezoning should be approved for the
reasons that such rezoning is in accord with good planning and with
the General Plan of the City of Yakima; that the majority of property
owners in the vicinity do not oppose the change in classification;
111 that the needs of the City and community do require such change and
that the highest and best use of said property is for Airport Indus-
trial Zone, now, therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
Section 1. The recommendation of the Planning Commission of the
City of Yakima that the following described real property situated
in the Airport Clear Zone in the City of Yakima, Washington, and more
particularly described as follows, to wit:
Beginning at the southeast corner of the northwest quarter of
Section 34, Township 13 North, Range 18, E.W.M., in Yakima County,
Washington; thence north 0 24" east along the east line of
said northwest quarter a distance of 1,625.36 feet to the true
point of beginning; thence north 61 west a distance of
769.29 feet; thence south 19 west a distance of 1,750.00
feet; thence south 78 east a distance of 156.25 feet;
thence southwesterly along the arc of a curve to the right, whose
radius is 925.00 feet and whose interior angle is 48 to
the north right of way line of West Washington Avenue; thence
easterly along the north right of way line of West Washington
Avenue to the east line of said northwest quarter; thence north
0 east along the east line of the northwest quarter to
the true point of beginning; and
Beginning at the southwest corner of the northeast quarter of
Section 34, Township 13 North, Range 18, E.W.M., in Yakima
County, Washington; thence north 0 ° 05'46" west, reference
meridian, along the west line of said northeast quarter a dis-
tance of 1,625.33 feet to the true point of beginning; thence
south 61 ° 47'46" east a distance of 73.20 feet; thence south
70 ° 16'01" east a distance of 352.18 feet; thence south 79 ° 16'31"
east to the south line of the north half of said northeast quarte.
thence westerly along the south line of the north half of said
northeast quarter to the west line of said northeast quarter;
thence north 0 ° 05'46" west, reference meridian, along the west
line of said northeast quarter to the true point of beginning,
be rezoned from R -1, Single Family Zone, to M -3, Airport Industrial
Zone, be, and the same is hereby, approved and said real property
is hereby rezoned to Airport Industrial Zone.
Section 2. The above change in zoning shall be included and
depicted on the next regularly amended Use District Map prepared
by and for the City.
Section 3. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed
to file with the Yakima County Auditor a certified copy of this
ordinance.

Section 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
thirty days after its passage, approval and publication as provided
by law and by the City Charter.
