ORDINANCE NO ‘,.:/Y4.6. 0 AN ORDINANCE relating to City Funds and Accounts; creating the Un-Employment Compensation Reserve Funds as a special fund; specifying the purpose of such fund and the source of revenue thereto and providing for expenditures therefrom; enacting Chapter3.91, "Un-Employment Compensation Reserve Fund", and 410 various sections thereof as a new chapter and new sections of the City of Yakima Municipal Code; and declaring an emergency. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: SECTION I. CHAPTER 3.91, "Un-Employment Compensation Reserve Fund", and sections 3.91.010, 3.91.020 and 3.91.030 are hereby enacted as a new chapter and new sections of the City of Yakima Municipal Code to read as follows: • "Chapter 3.91 UN-EMPLOYMENT COMPENSATION RESERVE FUND • 3.91.010 FUND-CREATED PURPOSES. There is hereby created a special fund to be known as the Un-Employment Compensation Reserve Fund. The money in said fund shall be used only to pay the Washington State Employment Security Department billings to the City for benefits paid to prior City employees as required • by State Law and to pay fees of the Un-Employment Service Agency. 3.91.020 SOURCE OF FUNDS. Money shall be deposited in the Un-Employment Compensation Reserve Fund in accordance with or- dinances appropriating money therefor as maybe passed by the City Council from time to time, or as maybe included in the • budget, and interest earned from the investment of temporary idle money in the fund shall also be deposited therein. 3.91.030 EXPENDITURES. Expenditures from the Un,Employment Compensation Reserve Fund shall be made only for the purpose specified in Section 3,91.010 above, No expenditure shall be made from the fund unless, money has been transferred into the fund and billings from the Washington State Employment Security Department have been approved for payment by the service agency • appointed to audit said billings, SECTION II. This ordinance is one to provide for the immed, iate preservation of the public peace, property, health, safety and welfare of the people of the City of Yakima and an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its passage, approval and publication as provided by law and by the City Charter.
