ORDINANCE NO. e:3 /0 / • AN ORDINANCE relating to city government personnel; authorizing ser- vice recognition awards as a part of longevity plan for compensating city employees; and enacting Section 2.24.015 as a new section of the City of Yakima Muni- cipal Code. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA: Section 1. Section 2.24.015 is hereby enacted as a new section of the City of Yakima Municipal Code to read as follows: "2.24.015 Lon:evit •lan—Service reco:nition award. As each employee becomes entitled to the longevity pay provided by Section 2.24.010 of this chapter, that employee shall receive longevity compensation, in addition to the regular salary and such longevity pay, to consist of a five year incremental service recognition award in the form of a pin, pendant or similar item of jewelry as determined from time to time by the City Manager; and one such recognition award shall be further made to each such employee for each five years of service as a city employee in excess of twenty years." Section 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect thirty days after its passage, approval and publication as provided by law and by the City Charter, PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, signed and approved this day of ..5.02 , 1977.
